Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Hello is that DFS

'Yes'

How much for that sofa

'£1000'

Bit much for me

'No problem'

Ok Bye

(Yet if you wait for the bank holiday sale you get it for £700, you dont just go and buy a worse couch for £700 because its not bank holiday)

I wasn’t even talking about clubs agreeing fees btw. But yeah, clubs famously have a half price sale day don’t they. Just wait for that. Simple.

It’s up there with your ‘Southall was crap’ thread.

I personally think people turning their nose up at him because he's not glamorous signing.

You claimed he'd be "poo" because he's got Dyche written all over him doesn't really carry any weight.
I said he'd be poo for us, to be fair. Don't think that's too controversial an opinion. He certain wouldn't be moving the needle much based on how we currently play...

To be fair i'm genuinely not sure that's true. Just picking someone we've been linked with to use as an example, I doubt many people could tell you exactly what it is about Douglas Luiz that they would like to see here. They see him as a good player, but I reckon most posters on here couldn't nail down specifically what it is about him that makes him a good player. That's not to say I think we should sign Brownhill, I just don't think it's a fair way of framing it - it's perfectly acceptable to say you think somebody is good without being able to give a detailed run down of all their strengths and weaknesses.
We all have a basic enough grasp of football to be able to point out little things that make that player good in your eyes though. I'm not expecting a detailed scout report.
He’s played in the Premier League for donkeys years so I’ve seen him enough to know he’s better than our pathetic options in midfield. He’s calmer on the ball, gets around the pitch, is always available and as highlighted by his goal return he is capable of getting forward and contributing too. Now feel free to let me know what James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam offer that makes you think they’ll keep him out of the team.
Thanks for clarifying, not sure why you couldn't just say that before in regards to what you think is good about him. I still question the goal return because he only scored 6 in 100 PL appearances.

I don't want Garner or Iroegbunam to be starters. I'm quite happy for Garner to be a bench option for us and think he'd be a better creative outlet if pushed a tad further up the pitch which is where he was best for Forest in the Championship, but with us he's been made to play deeper. I also think his versatility in being able to play RWB if needed is useful because he has a good engine. Timmy, is a puzziling one. I think technically he's good and he's a good ball carrier but doesn't seem to know what his best position is or able to engage his brain to his feet at times. I think he needs to refine his football IQ quite a lot. I'd be fine with him going on loan and keeping Armstrong if we signed two more midfielders.

This thread is crazy. One month ago we had a bunch of lads tying themselves up in knots trying to convince themselves that re-signing Michael Keane was a good move. Fast forward a month and we've basically got the same thing for Josh Brownhill.

Elite players for an elite stadium.

Everton.

You also had the crown prince of the lunatic fringe, trying his hardest to convince people, that Travers was here to force Pickford out too 😂

All turned into a bit of mess hasn't it. In danger of being called a bed wetter, to reach this stage of the window without a RW and CM is criminal. Other positions can wait but those two are desperate.

I keep seeing Grealish had said yes, Mcatee has had numerous meetings with us and said he would join but both waiting on deals to be struck with City. Surely after last night that trigger has to be pulled.

I want to believe things have changed but it starting to show nothing has
