Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I wonder if our pitch has been more 'we're going places, new stadium, new owners' (harder to believe after the last few years) than 'we're your platform to prove you're capable of going to the next level and we'll give you X amount of playing time'.
I'm sure you're right Aznou talked about believing in "the project"

I know this is the Everton transfer thread so we will have lots of differing views on it.
But I hope that those who constantly moan and give out in numerous posts hour after hour don't do the same in every other aspect of their lives or they must be incredibly miserable.
We all want Everton to do well. But really there's nothing we can do about it . Things could be an awful lot worse . Look at the likes of Morecambe and Sheffield Wednesday.

Oh god we’ve reached the “could be worse we could be going bust” stage of the window. Always an indicator that it’s going swimmingly and to plan.

At least we aint Chester should be our new motto.

The thing is - you can hold out for a Luiz AND sign a Brownhill. I doubt we get two top level midfielders so Brownhill ticks a lot of boxes for depth...but we certainly need at least 2 x signings in there.

Armstrong needs to play this year - in reality he would better off with another loan, Tim Iroegbunam just isn't up to standard for me, so I would cash in if we could.

I don't mind them holding out for a Grealish, Luiz and a top right winger, as they would obviously improve us massively...but we also need a few more experienced heads for this rebuild which we should be getting through the door before Leeds.
Cash in on a 22 year old who's shown promise at times just because he's not ready yet? Such short term thinking that

Or wait for a Douglas Luiz standard player to become available?
They should have already set a deadline and moved on from all targets because leaving the squad this crap so close to the season is absolute negligence. Moyes is clearly making it public because they obviously haven't been listening to him internally or taking him serious. Can see him resigning if things don't improve in the next week, no way is he going into the new season with this squad. He's pretty much stated the squad isn't good enough and he doesn't want to manage a relegation team. His comments have now made me worried as I was quietly confident before that we had things in hand, it's obvious that we don't because he knows exactly how bad it is. His last few press conferences is his threat to the board because he has probably lost confidence in their ability to do deals. God help us, I can't do another season watching this cack as it currently stands. It's going to become desperate and they will bring in panic buys which will set us back again

What’s this idiot waffling about now? “1 or 2” he was saying 5 or 6 literally last week. What has his mate been briefed on or heard here? What a complete mess.

What’s stopping us also doing that as well as bringing in Brownhill? Answer - nothing.
Because Brownhill would be wanting playing time not just to sit on the bench as he's come off a stellar season in the Championship so he'll have clubs offering him first team football. Look if we did buy Brownhill I'd be okay with it but it would be a sticking plaster kind of signing and I'd wager he'd be a fans boo boy when they see he doesn't have the quality to take us to the higher level

We have 4 players who we shouldn't be looking at improving upon.

Pickford, Branthwaite, Tarkowski/O'Brien, and Ndiaye.

7 positions we either need better in or essentially we will 'make do'
Aznou in theory upgrades and sorts us at left back if Moyes will play him ofc.

4 of the 5 midfield spots are not good enough to be thinking these are starters.

We have no right winger - Garner just isn't good enough, Gueye shouldn't be getting looked at as an every game player, we have no right back and O'Brien is a square peg solution which removes all depth at centre back and leaving Keane as next in line. We dont have a number ten to speak off either - Alcaraz is squad level not someone who should be a nailed on starter. Up front we are hugely dependant on Barry settling quickly - if he takes 4-5 months or a season then we need Beto to stay fit and he's really not good enough to be a nailed on starter also.

At least 4 starters nailed on our needed, in reality we need 6-7 who are either better or at least equivalent to the likes of Gueye.

Of course mate, you are pushing an open door, but how realistic is that in one window, id suggest this in one stepping stone of many and as i said i think 3/4 quality players come into the starting 11. Id also suggest we are at our lowest now reputationally in the market, if key additions are made, we improve be more attractive, then bring in more replacement at a different time when we have improved - said players are likely to be better quality. The more we do under one buget the more the quality is going to be diluted - so as i say stepping stones. We have a squad now of 20/21 - realistically wec an throw any number at 25 through id suggest is realistic to improve of proper quality.

Its how you want to keep the dial on quality or how prepared you want to turn it down. Be interesting to see what the club does.

If its me im sticking to my guns on those 3/4 players of real quality and id be taking that to the wire. Though i dont think it will be that dramatic with a month to go.
