Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Not the first time we've been linked with him, but would be surprised if we went for a lad from the Greek league to come inas our starting right back
Would Tsimikas start in place of Mykolenko?

Just back from a trip to Greece and the locals don't understand why he doesn't get a game for the RS.

So do we automatically discount a player because he's Greek and they have no great pedigree of producing players?

Dunno

Gibbs-White too. There probably would have been some sort of a release clause put in too if we were to beat Forest at the time.

He's a good player and no doubt contributed to Forest, but a poor high risk deal ultimately, was just having a look at the numbers they've made very little from this transfer and Wolves also have a % of the sale price.

I suspect we probably walked away from the deal as it likely became a bit of a race to the bottom.

He's finished at the top level. Was finished in his last season at liverpool.

Hes got knackered ankles and moves like a brick in the sun. Hes also just been part of the biggest bottle job in eredivisie history.

Whats he going to be like with the pace of the PL?

I might be wrong but i think he gets eaten alive.
And he won’t get away with the pulling and pushing like he did at the RS as well as the abusing of referees.

Errrrrmmmmm - probably?

We don't discount it, of course, it would just be relatively unusual for a player to be ready to make the leap from the Greek league to being first choice at a Premier League club. Not impossible, of course, but unusual. That being said, if that's where the data is pointing us, then fair enough.

This lad actually had a v brief spell at Inter when he was v young, so clearly someone has seen something in him at some point

I haven't got a a scooby mate , never heard of this cat.

We have been linked with this Greek lad before, a few months back. It also seems there is plenty of other interest in him. There might be something in it.

EUR 15m seems to be the fee mooted, so fine on that front and would free up cash elsewhere.

23yo and 5 international caps, so if he is going to move and develop, now would be the time. Spent a year at Inter Milan in 20/21 without playing, but a very young lad then.

Even 30m per position is a push for us when 50m is dropped almost casually on players at clubs we aspire to compete with. We may not end up signing this lad, but his profile and cost is a type that we should be giving attention to.

I hope this doesn’t happen, because he definitely doesn’t want to be a no 2, he’s not going to be happy here if he signs.

As I said yesterday that’s coming from people close to him, in March I was told he would be prepared to drop down a level to be no1. Yesterday I was more or less told the same thing - that he wants to be a no 1. I realise the journos are saying something else.

I don’t know if we’ve spoken to him or not yet or those close are just giving the above line to me as a stock reply (with the risk of betting and all) and a transfer is on, but I know he was unhappy at Bournemouth being no 2 and actively sought loan moves.

Spurs splashing the cash on two good players Kudus and Gibbs-White both strongly linked with us in recent years. Think Kudus was quite close to joining us .
I absolutely love M G-W, he plays like he loves every minute - puts an absolute shift in. Really wish we had signed him.
