Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Stones, Branthwaite and Pickford getting a season together before an England tournament. Dunno how that would not be a positive for all 3 of those players.

You'd question Tuchel's sanity to overlook a ready-made heart of defence if they all play to the level we hope they can.

Worth a punt that.
Tuchel is picking Chalobah, Colwill, Reece James and Chilwill as his back four, with Palmer, Madueke, and as many of his ex players as possible.

I hope I am very wrong, but I can see us selling Branthwaite and tfg using the money for our summer spending, meaning zero investment on their side.
TFG cannot invest on their side. That’s how PSR works to keep the big boys at the top. Player trading and commercial revenue are all you can spend. It is up to TFG to get our sponsorship deals correct so we don’t have to sell players in the future.

We will always have to (and should want to) sell players.

Tell that to chelsea...if there is a will, there is way. Be creative with the accounts.. no excuse with 2 pl stadiums. The reality unfortunately is that they might not be so keen in spending their own money. January window was very underwhelming, and tomorrow the summer window starts. No strong links to any player l, and the worst squad by some distance in the pl.

Window opened today mate.

Maguire seems to think that we have up to 100 millions to spend this summer. If this is the case, we are going to struggle to get those top signings in that will make us competitive again. A lot to do, and not enough money to do it.

Then we really have to ask ourselves where truly need improving and allow for some improvisation. Defensively we're sound - only Arsenal, the RS, Fulham and City registered a lower xGA. That's something we should value and build upon. Tying down the engine that is Gana and not selling Branthwaite should be prioritised. Do we need to risk more in attack from FB? Will our defensive stability be compromised if we do? I mean, we definitely need more goals out wide and from CF, but as I've just alluded to about defensive stability, do we ruin what we have defensively in order to be more effective in attack? What if it becomes too much of a culture shock to the unit? Balance is the word, I guess? I know everyone wants "Jack flash" wingers, but we really need to think long and hard. I'm not suggesting we have to endure another Jack Harrison, but the ideal RW won't just magic out of thin air. It's took us years to find one for a bloody good reason. Perhaps we need to spend a lump sum here to get it right? The same goes on a CF - another positiion a lump sum is usually needed. And even then it's no guarantee. Look at Lukaku at United.

Apologies for the rant, folks.

I would go for a small squad but top signings, maybe 2 or 3 with a couple of loans. Our defence is solid, but Branthwaite linked to chelsea and spurs...he is probably gone unfortunately, meaning defensively it is a significant step down. Signing his replacement will be expensive.

Tuchel is a bad joke...bad news for England (unless you support the opposing team) and will do worst than Southgate. If Branthwaite goes this summer, I have no doubt that tuchel will have play a role by not selecting him last time around.
