Then we really have to ask ourselves where truly need improving and allow for some improvisation. Defensively we're sound - only Arsenal, the RS, Fulham and City registered a lower xGA. That's something we should value and build upon. Tying down the engine that is Gana and not selling Branthwaite should be prioritised. Do we need to risk more in attack from FB? Will our defensive stability be compromised if we do? I mean, we definitely need more goals out wide and from CF, but as I've just alluded to about defensive stability, do we ruin what we have defensively in order to be more effective in attack? What if it becomes too much of a culture shock to the unit? Balance is the word, I guess? I know everyone wants "Jack flash" wingers, but we really need to think long and hard. I'm not suggesting we have to endure another Jack Harrison, but the ideal RW won't just magic out of thin air. It's took us years to find one for a bloody good reason. Perhaps we need to spend a lump sum here to get it right? The same goes on a CF - another positiion a lump sum is usually needed. And even then it's no guarantee. Look at Lukaku at United.
Applogies for the rant, folks.
