Moshiri

So the fact that Usmanov illegally owned the football club while also owning shares in Arsenal, and had to hide in the shadows for years while we pretended this idiot accountant was funding our stadium and writing off all our losses, was ultimately the reason that we had to allow gangsters to load £400m of fraudulently obtained debt onto the football club that nearly ended our existence?

Correct.

People talk about 777 as a negative, he actually grifted money from the grifters. If anything that was his most impressive move.

Probably texted the prem to deny them long enough until they go under. A+ move.

Except if Richard Masters had said “yes” then they would’ve been our owners.

He did have the best of intentions and has to take credit for the stadium, it was miraculous getting it completed under the circumstances and he provided the initial financing and energy to get it started, and ensured it got finished.

I don't think he'll ever be invited to give a guest lecture on corporate governance though. He must have been forced into keeping Kenwright, but why collectively they didn't allow competent professionals to run the club, I'll never understand.

Stadium or not, we were the worst run club in the country, and comparatively for our size, probably one of the worst in the world.

I'd like to see him attend a game though, he deserves that. A crazy guy, but one of the most consequential people in our history now.
He’s bought a corporate package for BMD.
I’ll applaud him for helping us achieve our dream of a world class stadium on the banks of the royal blue Mersey.

That wasn't his goal though. His goal was to sell the club to 777.

You can't in one breath say he was well intentioned but incompetent, and in the next say he tried to sell the club to a ponzi scheme. His intentions were quite obvious.

I think on that occasion Moshiri was acutely aware of how unlikely a deal would be to actually get approved so was more than happy to string them along saddling the club with high interest loans so he didn't have to pay
