Moshiri

Biggest mistake was his first. Keeping Kenwright around.

Trying to hate him, but he got us the stadium. Yes, nearly bankrupted us. But, we were only going backwards before him.

Heart was in right place, execution was all wrong.

Listened to a little bit there and still refers to us as "we".

if the war didn’t start

would he still be here?

and uncle uzzy

Would be surprised if that wasnt a stipulation of the takeover and why other rumoured takeovers were unsuccessful

Why did Moshiri himself say in June 2023 that he basically begged Kenwright to stay on for his experience then? Surely if Moshiri was being forced to keep him on against his will he would’ve just not said anything.

I’m sure now Kenwright is gone and Moshiri is no longer associated with Everton, this big interview would be the perfect time for him to reveal the truth that he was held captive by Kenwright and forced to keep him around as chairman for 7 years. You’re free now Farhad, you can tell the truth for the first time in your life if you want.
I don't think he can admit he was just Usmanov's bagman, that his "purchase" was tolerated at a premium because it drove up the value of the other nineteen clubs, and he was forced to sell by the Prem once Usmanov's services were no longer required, in the wake of driving out Abramovich.

It was a horrible period to suffer, we have though served our penance and come out the other side. Had we built our new stadium without risk it would habe ended up a generic basic stadium on the outskirts of town. It would have been a painful move from Goodison and we may never have got the interest to really kick on.

Sometimes you need to have someone bonkers to come in and shake it up, I'm sure we would have been fine if Usmanov had been still around to bankroll us, but what happened happened and we survived. Now we at last have an equal footing in this city in one aspect. Enjoy Blues and for that Moshiri and Usmanov get a pass from me.

Doesnt make a lot of sense to me. Sounds like a weird misguided PR piece, You think they bought the club and then were like ‘and just where do you think you’re going William!?’

Trump would probably come out and try and claim credit for it if he did that

For all of Moshiri's faults he needs to be at the opening game at Bramley Moore. He almost destroyed this club yet without him we wouldn't have a new ground.

He was just out of ideas once his main financer behind the scenes was sanctioned.
