That is the plan. So far no MLS strike. Players training and scrimmaging without a new contract. Old contract remains in force from the owners point of view. Could get interesting. Wondering if no CBA yet means anything for Everton.

Europa Cup = Domestic Burn Out?

Was there money involved? If there was did it buy the players necessary to play in Europa Cup? With all the injuries was there something changed in the training approach that may have contributed to the rash of injuries? Not saying one way or another, but posing the questions.

Wondering how thf Facebook campaign is doing now. Wondering how Toffee supporters view his value now. Does it change from week to week? Just askin'

    Donovan's miss....

I love that about LD. He doesn't make excuses and he understands what it takes to win. He comes through more often than not.

Yes. That is an internal rule made by MLS, a rule which MLS has already offered to adjust. Same sort of rule that determines whether a player will play in a reserve game or not, or be loaned to another team. So how do you prevent this abuse: Player A doesn't like team G. Player A likes...

Nah! Needs to be "Everton the minnow killers." That makes Everton the giant. :D

Try to think of MLS as a single club with several teams that play a bunch of scrimmages. The players are employed by MLS not the Galaxy or Sounders, etc. They have all the same rights as any other player in the world. When they are out of contract with MLS they can go on a free transfer to...

As I suspected the owners will simply walk away from MLS before they allow free agency. They are already losing money and the interest in the US isn't high enough for the players to have that kind of clout. If Chad Marshall disappears, he simply won't be missed. If the MLS owners walk away...

It hasn't been mentioned often here, but LD is used to playing for a team with a realistic shot at winning a championship. His comment after the tie game against Arsenal reflects this. "The guys in the locker room are upset. So that's good." His frustration with Grumpy was all about winning...

    Man of the match

Impossible to pick a single Man of the Match. I'm going to say Saha. His runs and hold up play initiated everything the Toffees were able to do out of midfield. That turned out to be total domination. Osman would be right there with Saha.

    Everton 3-1 Manchester United. Saturday 20th February @ 12.45.

Everton looked like a top four team today. Both teams had a mid-week game. I have rarely seen Man U dominated in the middle like they were today. Osman and Arteta were able to play all day long. They were never left without options because the spacing and movement off the ball was superb...

The labor talks are the key at this point. I still expect something to get done. However, there are only a few owners in the MLS that are making money. All have other interests that are much bigger than soccer. Kraft and Anschutz are the principal owners/investors in the league. They...

Sports Illustrated: Donovan's immediate success at Everton could complicate his futur

Wahl usually has very reliable sources and he rarely writes what he can't corroborate. Landon's August should be very interesting at Goodison (and perhaps elsewhere). His April and May will be all about MLS and his June about the World Cup. A lot can change between now and August.

It should be more fluid than it has been IMO. I think the absence of Cahill may not only make more exchanges possible, but I think it may make them necessary, unless Everton has another player that can maintain a physical presence and still transition quickly like Cahill does. That's a pretty...
