Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

And the first prepared Gravlax . This will be used on rye bread then as eggs romano then in a salmon casserole on Sunday . I had to trust the wife to take the photo as my hands were lurking full of fish oil .It is salted sugared and dill . I now have boiled the trimmings and will pick what meat is left to use in a soup. We have calculated that will get more than 30 plates of food from this fish ,so less than 1€ per plate for the main ingredient.1663845291074.jpg

Brilliant. Salmon isn't one of my faves, mind you my culinary knowledge of our ocean brethren, beyond cod, haddock and tuna is limited lol

Always wanted to try red Snapper and monkfish and scallops. I should buy some and give it a try, just don't trust myself with raw fish.

I had a go at meat free but I eat frozen a lot and I just couldn't find enough good choice, I said before, I don't mind Quorn but Linda McCartney and plant chef leave a lot to be desired. Although I did have a chick pea and lentil tikka masala last week. I do buy stuff like bean burgers. I was very much a carnivore so even what I do now is a lot better.

Gutted about Patterson, that's defender number 4 we've lost since the season started. We must be due a bit of luck or are the posts and crossbar taking it all lol

Not great weather today, even D only wanted to be out a short time, it's very dark out. Hope everyone is doing ok I know some are having a difficult time.
Big fan of bean burgers me. Haven't had one for ages though. I cooked a decent chickpea curry in my slow cooker the other week. Was very easy to make. Just chuck some veggies curry powder and chickpeas in and then leave it for a few hours.

Red Snapper is fantastic. Had one in South Africa, eons ago.
I would love to try some, it's one of them I always see on Australian Masterchef and have always wanted to try it.

Talking food, I've been trying some Heck burgers, the chicken italia one is lovely, that's tea today. Also tried the red pepper and feta one, it was decent but not as good.

Just spoke to Drs secretary, she's going to call me back after chasing them up.
