Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hi Jazzy,

January is a good time to visit! We have an 8k foot mountain if you like skiing!! It's about 30 minutes from the strip. The weather can be a little cool (for us lol) but you and Mrs J would probably be fine. Feel free to ask me any Vegas questions. I've been here over a decade.

As for San Francisco, depending on what you want to see there (Golden gate Bridge etc), I'd go to somewhere like San Diego instead, but I get the allure of San Fran.

I've been to Oahu once, so have some info on that island if needed, too.

It sounds like a fun trip!
Thanks , will PM later

I haven't met your friends yet Anj but I'm on the lookout.

Just having a nightcap on my balcony. In fact I'm enjoying it so much just poured myself another G&T. Met a scouse couple at dinner tonight which was nice (well from Bromborough anyway). He was a red but very dignified which is unusual. His old mum is a blue though.

Just sitting here taking in another fantastic moonscape which I may post.

Have really enjoyed my holiday so far. Neighbours have been great in fairness but these moments of reflection on my own I've enjoyed the most.

At the end of the day I just miss her and that will never ever change. I realise that. But you can learn to cope and I think I'm doing that. Cal always lved a good moonscape.
Love that Fred . We may not actually be there but we wll always be here for you.

Warmed my heart reading that Fred ,you are doing so well but you can still shed a tear when needed .Never fancied a cruise but you are certainly showing the positive side of it , have the neigbours shown their faces for breakfast yet ?
As suite customers they get to go to a posh restaurant for brekkie which plebs like the rest of us aren't allowed in. Suits me as I'm not early birds like them.

Before the cruise the plan was just to have our evening meal together and play the rest of it by ear. In other words each have our own space. But I'm spending part of the daytime with them too most often, which is actually them seeking me out rather than the other way around. We have 2 trips booked together and also his brother has a villa booked in Crete whilst we are there and is coming to pick us up to spend the day with them. He's a bit of a bounder by all accounts so should get along well?.

Think Rob is enjoying my company as Michelle likes to be back in bed before 10. So he's spending a lot of time in the casino with me and generally getting pissed. He doesn't gamble much though (neither do I really) as his father basically lost the family's wealth in casinos.

Wonderful thunder and lightening show overnight. Strangely the dogs weren't bothered by it at all.

Luckilly I cut all the grass and sprayed the weeds yesterday as the forecast for the rest of the week is rain , rain and more rain !

With all the excitement of the transfer window gone I've mum's big shop and some yoga to look forward to today and keep me going.

Great to hear from @Barnfred 55 with his tales and reflections from his holiday and lovely to see one of our newer visitors @Vegas Toffee Girl posting , you are most welcome and please continue to tell us about things happening from your side of the pond.

I think it adds so much interest when we get posters from different countries giving their news and perspective.

I'm reminded , with Fred being on his cruise, that we always used to go with P & O which has an almost exclusively British clientele. Then , one year we did an Asian cruise on Celebrity from Singapore and met so many different nationalities . For me it made the whole experience so much more interesting - especially winding up Americans who voted for Trump!

Anyway , have a lovely day everyone.

Me and Mrs J always spend a good hour in the late night casino . We don't gamble at all , nooooo , but it's interesting to see people - often those who don't appear to be minted - waste so much money.

Made up for you Fred that you are having such a great time. Of course there will be periods of sadness and reflection but you are a top guy .

Sorry I'm missing you when you are up this way for the funeral but I'm sure we will meet up soon.

Good morning all but maybe not quite as good as Fred's .I hope all had a great kip and have a special day today. The weather here is getting colder which should mean mushrooms popping their heads out soon. I do love a good forage ,the wife prefers lurking but that is life . Have a great day all COYB.
Do you have assistance from a truffle hunting hound Blue or do you use your own nose ? lol

Brill you're having a great time Freddo, Cal would be proud the way you've picked yourself up and made new friends and holidaying, not sure I would be the same. Lovely pics as well, looks so serene and chilled.

Good morning mascoteers hope you're all good, early start for me, got to take the pooch out early as got to be in for shopping coming and I book a flexi saver slot so anytime between 9-1, should find out soon though what hour in that it will be.

Have a good day everyone.

But the biggest question - the one that you've dodged and that all GOT want the answer to is .......all you can eat buffet breakfast or civilised sit down in the restuarant and waiter service?

Your public are waiting Frederick .

I will give you the full run down of the allegedly mad Italian Costa Cruise line when I get back! ?
@Vegas Toffee Girl is a stalwart of the Women of GOT. @Gwladysover and I have met her many times in the forum and it's nice to see her popping up in other places! I'm always impressed by those who live in US, Australia or NZ who get up at stupid o'clock to watch Everton.

Morning all, the first misty morning of the season today which has now lifted to grey cloud. Not much of a traveller myself but have always had a hankering to see the Northern lights .They were visible in Scotland last night. Talking of travel as our trip to Edinburgh next week had to be cancelled I’ve booked a couple of days in York instead. Off for a haircut this morning, have a good day all.?

All you can eat of course. Its one deck above so can practically crawl out of bed straight into the restaurant.?

I've been very good so far. Alternating daily between fruit (melon and pineapple) and a selection of meats and cheeses.

Have to watch those pounds yanno (just to upset GOT)
