Good afternoon all. I'm still feeling the buzz from yesterday, I know we didn't win but we played so well - best I've watched for ages. It gives me hope. Then I watched Maupay's little message on Instagram and the French accent was a joy. Filled a Digne sized hole in my life.
Your hols look fab @Barnfred 55 I think two of my friends are on your cruise. They keep posting pics of the same places that you are. If you come across Kevin, a gay Welsh man who is holidaying with his life long friend Mary say hi to them lol Kevin is coming on the cruise with us in a few weeks. @Billy Dean I hope you find a dog you can borrow for walks.
Did overtime this morning. That's 42 hours so far in the pay roll period. The cut off date is after next weekend so if I can squeeze another 12 hours in that will be 54 hours done- all on the end of Septembers pay. Holiday spends sorted. The weekend after that we are in Liverpool, my niece and her boyfriend are visiting from Australia. I'm going to the evening of a wedding on Thursday ( the lass whose hen do I went on last month). I still haven't got anything to wear. This is not good. I can see me leaving it until the last minute when I'm off on Wednesday.
Not much planned this week although we are having a Monday night roast dinner tomorrow. (sorry veggie friends!) Was going to do one today but logistics aka daughters social life did not allow it and she really wanted one! I'm just too soft.
I can't say I'm overly excited by the forthcoming leadership results. Rock and a hard place springs to mind. If I had to pick I think I would go for Sunak.
Enjoy your Sunday folks.
be careful about incitement Fred!
I think I read on here somewhere that Liverpool had the most decisions overturned by VAR. While Kopites cite that as hard done by the real crux of it is that referees are preconditioned to give them an incorrect advantageous decision. Unconscious bias if you will.Good mornin all on an overcast day here in Finland .I hope all slept well except that bloody ref we had ,it does look like a bad weekend for them in lots of matches .Some quite obviously biased decisions and I might know why.
I think it is subliminal .They want to find a reason to award a goal for some and they want to to find a reason to not award one for others . THey deliberated so long over seemingly obvious decisions only to come up with the wrong one .
I feel much better looking forward the way the team is playing ,we have some fine players coming through and the two centre backs are alone the evidence that the management team know what they are doing ,they have transformed the way we play and the mindset of the rest of the team .
I know it is unlucky to mention such things but the silly mistakes are almost a memory ,when was the last one ? Have a great day all .COYB
I noticed Sunak refuse to rule out electricity blackouts in England in the winter. It’s mad even typing that out.It is reported in the news here that Helsinki are thinking of scrapping the Christmas lights this year due to the cost ,it made me think how much does street lighting in a big city cost now ?
Mr google says there are 2.8 million street lights in London and the average £38 per lamp .

Interesting comments about electricity blackouts and street lighting. Speaking as a woman, this is great news for all the stalkers, rapists and perverts out there.
I do. I remember sitting in the dark with candles lit all around. Too young to be at work in those days. I don't ever remember not having to go to school though!Back to the future , what next 3 day weeks ? Remember those in the 70s?
I was at work in the pay office, we had to work all week, no electricity so no heating, we were only allowed home when it became too dark to work. Power cuts were rotated so when our area was cut off, we used to walk to the chip shop up the road as they had the power on. On the plus side no light pollution meant the stars were brilliant.Back to the future , what next 3 day weeks ? Remember those in the 70s?
I've just looked it up.I was at work in the pay office, we had to work all week, no electricity so no heating, we were only allowed home when it became too dark to work.
