Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Couple more of Peterborough cathedral. Last one is the tomb of Queen Katharine of Aragon, Ist wife of Henry the Eighth. The fruits are pomegranates, that was her emblem.View attachment 179273View attachment 179274View attachment 179275
Cal would have loved that H. She was a Tudor freak. The one time we did a sightseeing tour to London we went to Westminster Abbey, Tower of London and Hampton Court. She had all the Philippa Gregory books. Her absolute favourite was the Other Boleyn Girl that she must have read a dozen times at least.

I take it you both went to Speke Hall multiple times? Standard day out for South Liverpool primary schools! I've only been once as an adult.

I love the juxtaposition of having Dinosaurs in a Cathedral given the lack of mentions a particular holy book makes on the subject :p
That said, I do love Cathedrals and old buildings in general.
Here's me in Las Palmas Cathedral in my recent holiday to Gran Canaria. While my mates were enjoying the stunning art works , I was so amazed at the acoustics in there that I started recording my own finger snaps so I could make a reverb (long story) out of it when I got home ?lol

Yeah. We were NT members so were down there all the time. TBH we hadn't done the house for a long time. We just used to walk the gardens or go on the riverside walk which went all the way up to Garston docks.

We visited three years ago. I agree the about the view - stunning. There were some couples having a pre-wedding photo shoot (it’s very popular amongst the Chinese apparently) felt sorry for the brides trekking up the hill in their finery as it was quite a hot day.
The insta girl was in fact Chinese.. but I will admit also quite a looker.. so good luck to her…

Got to catch up with my reading today…
Ok this is me trying to be arty as “Man with Book” in front of the “woman with book” painting at the National Gallery.. I’ve never claimed to be an artistic genius.

Ps don’t ask me why the pic is sideways ??‍♂️
