Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hello everybody. Hope you are having a good Thursday ( or Friday in @fandjango 's case) Glad ypu enjoyed Edinburgh @larbert toffee . My friend's son, who is an aspiring actor is in a play in the Festival, rather than the Fringe. My mate and his wife are off to see it this week.

Glad you are in good health @jazzy .

Nothing much to tell you today. I got very engrossed in my work so haven't caught up on the cricket and/ or horse racing yet. I did have to put my slippers on - my feet were freezing. Bit of a change from recent weeks.

Enjoy your evening everybody.

I went to my mate’s dad’s funeral today at Springwood crem. which some of you will know. I took the opportunity to see my mum, dad and little brother next door in the cemetery, it knocked me for six for a couple of minutes but then you realise it’s not them in there and the memories matter far more.

Can, like most, resonate with that mate. It never ever goes. It fades, and real life kicks along, but sometimes, it can just become vivid, even if its fleeting.

Raise a glass, or a cuppa, to them.

It’s funny both my parents have been gone for a while now but I still talk to them quite often … especially when I’m being g ridiculous… I often am … and mum says … you daft bugger and dad just laughs and suggests I have a whisky and sort myself out and say thanks to them .
I guess they are still here in me

I've said this many times, I truly believe that those who have loved you never leave you and still love you even when they have moved on from this life.

My dad died when I was 14 so we never really connected. I looked after my mum for years when I bought a house where she had a granny flat for her. I was a very senior director in a large multinational but I always bounced tricky situations off my mum and she always gave me the down to earth advice which was always correct. When she died at the age of 89 I was gutted, but to this day I always think ‘what would mum have said’. They are still there in you…..

Arrived in London yesterday.. view from top of Primrose Hill is quite something.. spot the insta model… poor thing was having trouble with the wind.
We visited three years ago. I agree the about the view - stunning. There were some couples having a pre-wedding photo shoot (it’s very popular amongst the Chinese apparently) felt sorry for the brides trekking up the hill in their finery as it was quite a hot day.
