She called me back and low and behold, he has just done it, they had such a backlog

my arse, he forgot!! Anyway 22nd August got a physical health check and ECG then see the Dr on 5th September to start my meds. At least it's sorted now I suppose but another month isn't great tbh.

So glad to read you finally got your appointment, hopefully the meds will help improve your mental health ?

Hello everybody. Hope you are having a lovely day. It's been a funny old day here weather wise, Warm but ridiculously windy (my tomato plants all got blown over in their tubs, had to shelter them between the bins!) and really overcast. Looks like it is about to pour but has not. Very odd.
Paid my last visit to Cookie this morning. She was still alive so job done.
Love the thunderstorm story
@Gwladysover . My Nan was the same- made us switch everything off and had similar fears about the lightning coming down the chimney. Hope you enjoyed your day in Lincoln.
It's my Dad's birthday today. He's 85, I haven't spoken to him yet because he has been having one of his dialysis sessions. I bought him an air fryer - he's been on about getting one for ages. He uses a deep fat fryer for his chips but it's too messy he says. He also does love a gadget so I think he'll have fun with an air fryer. I'll ring him in about an hour, it gives him a chance to get home and have his tea.
I'm going on a hen do to York on Saturday. I thought my hen do days were well over! It's one of my work friends. She's getting married on Sept 8th. I'm the same age as her Mum who is also going to the hen do! The bride to be doesn't drink so we have activities planned, including Harry Potter golf and a ghost bus tour round York. We're also doing a cocktail making class - which might be the only alcohol involved on the day. I will miss our first match though - could be a good thing but our record against Chelsea at home is decent.
I notice Liz Truss did a rapid U turn today about regionalising Civil Service Pay. So much for levelling up and no way to keep the former Red Wall voters on board. She's an idiot. Although it's always the same - in the absence of anything constructive , have a go at the Civil Service.

Happy belated birthday to your dad, Ange. You have to give us an update later on how things are going with his air fryer.
Also a very happy birthday to Charlotte!

Made the decision that I am sure
@Barnfred 55 faced last year after Cal passed, to stay living in Nik and mine cottage. I juggled all sorts in the months after Nikki left us, even toyed with moving back to Liverpool. But in a moment of clarity, just couldnt face the thought of locking the door for the last time.
And since then, really looking forward to actually doing all the plans we had nattered about the place. Nowt major, garden/meadow notwithstanding, and deffo not in some shrine way. Just feels right.

Sounds like an excellent decision, and one that Nikki I’m sure approves, you do seem to have a lovely place where to grow old.

100% mate. Just sitting in the garden now and was thinking I'd made the right decision to continue living down here, at least for another year or two. I miss family and friends, but I think at the end of the day I'd miss Cornwall more.
We had a dream to come and live down here and it came true. I'd feel a fraud if I didn't at least give it a go. Plus I love it down here . Obviously I'd love it infinitely more if Cal was here too but she wouldn't be with me either if I moved back to Liverpool.

I also think you are making the best decision for yourself. While you miss family and friends in Liverpool, you have also created new bonds in Cornwall and these people have been very uplifting during the hard moments you have encountered since Cal departed so continue living there seems like a good path until you decide otherwise.

			We need a
 emoji versus just liking something.

I have been asking for those since I joined the forum and the best we got is the new added emojis, I believe is a software issue that can’t be changed.

You’ll all no doubt be flabbergasted to learn that I am NOT, in fact, Brett Angell.
You lovely lot from this thread are more than welcome to call me Dave.

Nice to meeting you, Dave! I’ll make sure to ask for those pics now that I know your real name

 lol

Not long after my old man passed last year I was back in Ireland, my old dear went to family in Meath to get away from it a bit and took a poor turn herself and spent a week in hospital across the border so obviously I legged it over there.
With views like this and fantastic people I'm a fool for not doing it more often.
Right outside my Dad's cousins house.
I originally sent this photo to
@Sassy Colombian who consistently PM'd me checking on me and helped a huge amount, more than she'll ever know.

Such gorgeous views, I can’t wait until I get to visit Ireland.
Awe, I’m glad to read that I was actually helping and not harassing

Well my daughter is just on her way to hospital to have her second child. Looks like I shall be buying the drinks tomorrow night…..

Congrats, Pete! My mom always says grandkids are the greatest joy of life.

Good morning all on this once again sultry day here in Finland.
@roydo and
@Barnfred 55 you are both so right .The ladies haven't left you they are just out of sight and a promise is a promise until it it becomes too heavy to bear . They would be proud of the two of you ,showing such fortitude and love .
We picked blackcurrants yesterday and they are the sweetest I have ever tasted .We are trying to get more today to freeze and make the obligatory liquor of course . I hope all have a great day and some great photos of Hibernia lads ,I hope that doesn't upset anyone .

Well said.
And well done with all your outdoor adventures collecting food. The chanterelle was out of this world!

			Morning everyone ,
Started off bright and sunny as per the forecast then a massive shower completely out of the blue.
Anyway taking mum for a steroid injection in her knee later - that will be fun - and hopefully cut some grass later.
Looks like Uncle Bill has found the Atreta money and splashing it on a new midfield .
Enjoy the day everyone

Hope your mum’s injections went well and that your back is feeling much better. All that work that you and Mrs. J did on the driveway was quite impressive, as it is your driveway lol

My son's first words this morning were, "It's daddy and lad day. We're off to the football!" I love how excited he is and how we spend so much time together.
I always promised to myself that I'd have a strong relationship my children and spend as much time with them as possible because I didn't have it with my father.

Have a nice time at the game with your lads. These are the moments that create strong relationships and forever memories. Hopefully Everton will make it be a good one too!

Holiday has begun…. Driving through to Joburg.. on the plane to London tomorrow connecting to Ireland .. a week there then a few days in Oxford with my mom .. then London for about 8 days or so….
Been a hell of a year so looking forward to forgetting work and connecting as a family.. as much time as we do spend with each other and do stuff always feel like it’s influenced by the pressure going on…
Hope the Boys give us a great start today.. but either way it won’t change the buzz I’m feeling to get away!

Have a man amazing time, your holiday sounds amazing and having that time to connect with your family is always a great opportunity to revitalize after a hell of a year.
