Yates in Birkenhead was where i first tasted aussie white, used to love the stuffThunderbird was evil. Nothing however compares to Aussie White from Yates Wine Lodge. I still have nightmares about that stuff!

What a shame ,where did the life we knew as kids go ? I remember in Walton Hall park they labelled all the trees by species and variety ,keep off the graass signs everywhere and a few gardeners .Now it is a tip ,well when I left part of it was literally .More views of the park including the garden of remembrance. The council has just voted to stop plantingView attachment 166032 flower beds and baskets in various places around the city including the park to save £50,000. I know that money is tight and £50,000 is a lot but it’s sad to see the weeds which are already putting in an appearance and I think it will be only a matter of time before the whole place takes on an uncared for look. So many people get so much pleasure from the park, there is a childrens play area, paddling pool, aviary, tennis courts etc. there as well, that it seems to me that keeping the park in its present condition would be money well spent.View attachment 166034View attachment 166035View attachment 166036View attachment 166037

I thought of you as soon as I typed my post. I'm sure it's fine in moderation but the follies of youth have scarred me forever. lol….it’s getting as rare as hens teeth but I have 6 bottles on a shelf in my garage and one is getting cracked open and swug this week if our survival is confirmed.
I think @barnfred is a glass nearly empty kind of guy judging by the photos .30/70 but then rather than half full I’m a glass is nearly empty kind of a girl. lol
When I was sixteen I work on the Yates's in Tarleton Street and one of our lads found a way to "borrow " some ,everyday he was pie eyed by 2P.M. The manager couldn't work out how he was doing it .Now you're talking
If you have the time and skills to do it then why not blue?Good morning all on this sunny day here in Finland .I hope all had a great kip and are well today .
I did a bit too much yesterday but I need to chop 30 cu.m. for the winter and sauna so I need to press on .This is the first tree and I will take a break to do other bits before tackling the next one .I inherited a weling machine and I want try some wrought iron or similar project ,nothing for sure but may be a table with a marble top .There is an ad on youtube for this set of scroll bending jigs and I think I could replicate them.Typical of me is 3 days work setting up to make something costing 50€ that I could buy for 40€ !It is just the challenge .
Have a great day all.COYB

I spent my childhood in Walton Hall Park. We lived not far away. (1940's). What happy memories. Apart from when the ammunition train got blown up in the air-raid and there were bits of train all over the park and our football pitch! What a shame ,where did the life we knew as kids go ?
