Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hi all. Happy St Patrick's Day to our Irish contingent. Used to love being out in Liverpool on this night. The Irish Centre was the place we went to. My dad sent me a St Patrick's Day card , bless him. As I've said before he's the only one of his siblings who was born in Liverpool after his family moved from County Cork.

Have I imagined this or could you also get Opal Mints as well as Opal Fruits? I'm sure you could. And Polo Fruits. They were pretty grim.

Well done on the bird cack cleaning Fred. I like wood pigeons too - proper little fatties. We've got a few who visit our garden every day. I'm not sure who was the culprit but some feathered friend did the biggest dropping I've ever seen on my car last week. That required some cleaning off.

Big big Happy birthday to @Methuselah. Hope you've had an awesome day.

I totally agree that today's footballers are completely out of touch with reality. I used see Howard Kendall in and around Allerton Road when he was the manager, would occasionally come across John Gidman slumped over the bar in Penny Lane wine bar. It just wouldn't happen now.

I really hope we win tonight. Surely the law of averages dictates we have to win one soon. Although we usually contrive to lose to Newcastle so I'm not convinced it will be tonight.

Catch upo with you all during the match. If you have it, it's on Amazon Prime.

It is a piece of magic isnt it?

Had a birthday a few years ago, and my present from the lads was a trip to St Nicks, the sweet shop, followed by them buying me any record (vinyl) from the plethora of second hand stores there.

Bristols best kept secret, and thats before we get to the UN level of food outlets. Mazing place.
I've never been to Bristol, sounds like I'm missing out!

Tourists down here tend to visit Bath/Oxford/Cotswolds.

But for an absolutely brilliant weekend, (sport not withstanding), Bristol is just brilliant. The docks, the covered markets, the cuisine, (Mich stars all over the shop, and ace stuff from around the world), the village within a city that you can lose yourself in. For hours. Then, 10 minutes from the centre, charming typical English pubs with a fire and a warm welcome.

I am very lucky.

Fortunately I don't have Amazon Prime

OK , so to try and keep active and my mind off recent events I decided to start the spring clean.

Whilst I listened to Ben Stokes thrashing the Windies to all parts of Bridgetown I was washing the windows and woodwork upstairs. Mrs J very down and didn't want to do anything .

Well I usually wash the windows inside every couple of months or so but not the window frames which were absolutely filthy.

I will have a go downstairs next week.

Despite our sadness me and Mrs J will have to put on our best happy Del Trotter faces on Saturday when we do a stall at Ormskirk market for the animal rescue. Fortunately the weather forecast is really good so we hope to have a profitable day and make loads of money for the animals. It's hard work and I hope my back is up to it but in the past ( not done it for a while due to covid ) we've been very successful. Wish us luck !

Have a great evening tonight , I think it's a must win game .

Don't know what they'd been eating Anj but it was like glue ?

I'd totally forgotten we were playing tonight. I do have Amazon prime, my mate uploaded it to my TV SO we could watch the Derby last time we were up. I have to log in under his name though so wouldn't that kick him off? Not sure how it works.

By the way, I remember polo fruits but not opal mints.

Now I understand why P&O were being so funny with my refund. Different arm of the company but same owners.

Terrible the way they've treated their staff. It's straight out of Peaky Blinders.
Disgusting by P&O. Looks like they are following the business model of the cruising arm of Co. by employing foreign workers on a pittance and avoiding the minimum wage.
Focuses the mind to boycott them in favour of their competitors in the future. Only problem is everybody else does the same thing.
