It is bizarre that no team has realised that you need to unsettle him and his cross field diagonal punts. None of their other centrebacks can find a pass. Instead every team sits off them cacking themselves and let him stroll about lasering balls from side to side.
Yesterday would seem to indicate that but I don't think it's a simple as that.
Watching him since he came back, I think he's been poor and is often chasing shadows. He's a shadow of the player he was preinjury however the media want to ignore this. They want to hype up everything about the premier league and their favourite clubs in particular and performances yesterday allows them to maintain the myth.
The big issue is that teams refuse to have a go at Liverpool. They know Liverpool will go all guns blazing at them so they try to stay in the game by offering nothing ofesivley. The reality is, whether they win or lose, everyone who's been prepared to have a big of a go at them whether that's Brentford, City, Chelsea, West Ham etc, they all cause lots of problems. even us and Newcastle created things when we decided to have a go.
