I think it's usually due to our insistence in playing two in the midfield whilst every opposition has three players in there. The tactics deployed are so poor at times under Benitez.

He needs to play in a 3 man midfield to get the best out of him for me. Yes he’s slow on the turn but he does hold his position and is comfortable on the ball.

However it was very evident from today he’s playing with absolute bang average attacking players around him his insistence of punting the ball long really does show he has no confidence in players around him.

A good (not excellent) player in a poor team.

He isn't any good. I dont think hes come close to a goal yet in well over a season

Trying to do too much. I think he's a good player, in a very poor side.

Of recent he does seem to be playing every week with a injury or illness.

I think you go back to 4-3-3 with Doucoure & one more and we'd see improvement.

So many more I'd replace before him.

He's neither an attacking or defensive midfielder. He offers nothing. He's just another in a long line of Everton midfielders who can't stop counter attacks, can't pass between the lines, can't shoot and can't win second balls.

Well he's a defensive midfielder. Looking at him for not scoring goals is odd. Gana scored 4 in more than 100 games for us.

Proper midfielders offer at both ends of the field. I'm not asking for even 5 a season, just to contribute. Like Fernandinho scored today. He's a proper midfield player.

Yes, if you're an 8, not a 6.

Fernandinho has only 25 in over 360 games for City.

They mean points at the end of a season. I just don't rate Allan, and don't see what he does. He doesn't help the back 4 or offer attacking threat. A pointless signing.

£20m down the bog there. Look how much our midfielders cost us and we still need 4 new midfielders.
