We average 39.83% Possession per game this season, only Burnley average less on 38.83%. Number of passes played in games at the Ethihad this season

Norwich 362 City 730
Arsenal 185 City 757
Southampton 319 City 555
Burnley 318 City 768
Palace 319 City 654
Everton 246 City 853

This has nothing to do with injuries and everything to do with how we set up and what our game plan is. That is 100% on the manager but once you keep inviting pressure onto you, you are bound to end up losing games, there will just be no other outcome. We average 337 passes per game, our opposition averages 542, so we play 200 less passes per game on average, that has nothing to do with injuries or squads or anything else and has everything to do with an outdated philosophy and an inability to adapt to the modern game.

Excellent post. He’s recreating what he did at Newcastle (even with a couple of the same players).

Next up he’ll be lowering expectations and criticising the board.

I agree. But the earlky part of the season with DCL and Richarlison available wasn't there later on for those games.
That shouldn’t mean the tactics have to change though, we’ve got talented players coming through who should have been given chances during the games we’ve had injuries, instead he’s stuck with Rondon, Iwobi and Davies to name 3, we may have picked up more points putting some young fire into an injury hit squad

How can you look at those players available and expect a result at City?

HOW?!
It's not just today though is it mate?

I think we'll have to agree to disagree. But I'm sure many will agree if we wanted a reactive manager, with strengths in organising a defence, and playing pacily on the break with wingers... then Tony Pulis would have been cheaper and undoubtedly as effective.

your right here dave. thing is theres an awful lot of fans that cant see this and are too quick to blame the manager because of who he managed its the easy option for them.wont admit theres not many managers who could get a tune from the squad we have. they dismiss the notion that its not he that signed the squad of over paid gutless players at his disposal but reckon its he who should be able to make a 1 stringed guitar sound like clapton. 1 player rondon is tripe thats a big error on Rafael. gray and townsend have been decent and at least contributed to the team. the rest are mainly garbage that previous managers got in and were stuck with as the people at the top signed the cheques and negotiated the contracts long deals big money for less than average players who we cant move on. going to take a good while to fix the last few years mistakes.
I said all last month and beyond we'll spend a good spell in the bottom half but we have to get through to January and also wait for injuries to get sorted.

What we're seeing is a stampede by the anti-Benitez brigade to use this period to force a dismissal...because they know it's the only chance they'll get after matters settle down.

It's a disgrace and quite pitiful.

Going to be boss when we sack benitez.

Bring a new manager in and first game we still don't have lewen up front , doucoure in midfield and Mina on defence.

We will still have gbamin , Davies and Delph as the main part of our midfield.

And we still have iwobi in the team.

We still only invested 1.7 million into a team that finished 10th and 12th the seasons before.

But it's the managers fault and we should sack him. Maybe the next manager can magic players out of thin air and turn iwobi into a world class player.

Come on. Be serious. Gordon is a one off.

The only disgrace is Evertonians willfully ignoring a run of 1 win in 9 games to back a kopite dinosaur manager out of his depth.

You can have injuries, you can have a crap squad and all the other BS excuses that people are making

But you all told us that he wouldn’t stand for rubbish displays and he would I still a fight into us

We rolled over and let City tickle are tummy today. He’s the biggest charlatan in football, he uses the media to paint him as something he isn’t, a good manager
