I said all last month and beyond we'll spend a good spell in the bottom half but we have to get through to January and also wait for injuries to get sorted.

What we're seeing is a stampede by the anti-Benitez brigade to use this period to force a dismissal...because they know it's the only chance they'll get after matters settle down.

It's a disgrace and quite pitiful.
It’s a disgrace to accept being in the bottom half of the table, with the money we’ve spent. A good manager works through any injuries and adapts the team accordingly, even if it means not playing donkeys

Come on. Be serious. Gordon is a one off.
Simms, Dobbin, Onyango. The former two should have been given the chances Rondon got and failed to do anything with while DCL has been out

£1.8M

Get in the bin.

The nightmare scenario is these players in the bottom 3 or near it come new year. Can’t remember last time we were in that position. Can’t trust these wasters to deal with that.
The month ancelotti took over. 19 points from 18 games, we were 15th and only 4 points off relegation zone and that was boxing day. We were only that high because dunc got us a few points before carlo was appointed. That was a worse position than when allardyce needed to "save us" (13th and 5 points above relegation zone), so carlo actually saved us from relegation. We literally could be 18th after the Derby if burnley win their games.

We then have Chelsea and arsenal and leicester coming up, among others who are in form like Palace. We could be relegation zone at Christmas.

People who use injuries as an excuse are properly clueless. You haven't a clue about football.

Will we get players back then have no injuries ever again?

Its part of football. Its not an excuse. You learn to adapt. You prepare for injuries. You never accept runs of 1 in 9 in any circumstances

Its up to the manager to adapt and keep the team competitive. Its up to the DOF and board to prepare a squad for inevitable injuries.

Everyone has failed and everyone involved should resign.

£500M pissed up against the wall on trash by other managers.

Next....
It’s a squad of players with enough experience to be performing far far better than they should. Wasn’t that why he was brought in, to get the team back to a solid foundation? A manager who himself has enough experience to adapt to an injury crisis

That's the thing, what if Lewin comes back plays a few games and gets injured again, does Benitez as he is now get a free pass again.

Some proper knobheads on here that have waited for the result and are now happy that we lost so Benitez is close to being sacked.
Both idiots are now on ignore.
Sad people who think this is on the manager, not the rubbish one players we have ??‍♂️??‍♂️
I suppose the pair of plank are not worth worrying about
No manager would come in and do any better with this squad and injury list.

Please don’t call prone knobheads though.

Quite simply - if Utd lose Ronaldo to injury they have Cavani

If City lose Foden to injury they have Grealish

If RS lose Mane to injury they have Jota

If Chelsea lose Kante to injury they have Kovavic

If Villa lose Watkins to injury they have Ings

Most sides in the league have some form of effective squad cover - we have nothing outside of the CB options - we have 1x RB, 1x LB, 1x good CF & CM and 2x good wide players.

Only way teams like us do well is being lucky with injuries - West Ham barely get injuries and are flying, Wolves done well for 2 years without injury as did the RS until last season which they both struggled temporarily with Nuno being booted.

Anyone who doesn't take into account the glut of our injuries and our lack of any squad options are ignorant at best or have a clear agenda at worst.
