Yep, we need a manager who can build his own team for the next 4 years but managers don't get the time anymore so how do you spot these managers. Prob why the wolves manager is on the list
We need a manager who can quickly and efficiently take the nucleus of this current side, implement new additions and make them immediately better, similar to what happened when Martinez added Lukaku, Barry and McCarthy to Moyes team.
They get 2 seasons at best to show that their plans are working these days, especially for the money they are being paid.

This notion of 4 or 5 year plans are all fairy tales these days.
Pochettino took Spurs to being actual challengers but because he didn’t win anything was still sold down the river eventually.

I don’t want Conte anywhere near our club. He will do exactly what Carlo has done. Everton is not a quick fix. Their isn’t a manager on this planet that could take the team we have now and get top 4 every season. We need some stability now, and a manager that can build something special and stable.
Any manager that succeeds with us and gets offered a major European clubs job probably will, the point is getting success and making us relevant again. Howe, Moyes, Potter, Ragnick will not do that.

I see it as a pyramid of choices for us. Test the water with Simeone first, then Conte, then Sarri, then Mancini, the Luis Enrique. If they all reject us that's when you move on to Gallardo, NES , Conceicao, Ten Hag etc.

But we need to be shopping around high ceilings here.

Simeone is fantasy land. When people even suggest this it makes me cringe, you can put Conte in that category too.
There is more chance of me managing at Everton than these 2.
They are both young managers at the top of their game, complete opposite to Ancelotti when he joined us, so anybody saying “but we got Ancelotti” isn’t thinking it through.

Lad listen to what your saying. We are crap. We haven’t won anything in over 25 years. This isn’t anything like the Carlo situation. No world class manager is going to come here. Just like they wouldn’t go to Leeds, Southampton, Wolves etc.... We throw money at a manager who was at the tail end of his career. We made him one of the best paid managers in world football, and he laughed his ass of and bailed at the first given chance.

Like deja vu reading that. Cant help think we've posted that before on here.
Also all the criticism ancelotti got for buying your allans and rodriguez. Conte did something very similar at inter. Ashley young. Alexis sanchez. Godin. Kolarov..
Clearly slotted into a better squad.
Imagine doing that here and it not working. Ancelotti style bashing all over again.
He aint coming here anyway.

True...ish. What is the point at boardroom level though, if they say this type of thing. They should be trying for the very best and working down as necessary.

CA was no busted flush when we appointed him. He was/is still one of the most coveted managers in the game.

Koeman was linked with Barca and Arsenal when Moshiri hired him. By all accounts Mourinho would have been appointed if UTD didn't sack Van Gaal.

Moshiri probably offers a very well supported and backed environment for a head coach, Simeone may be a step too far but Conte is clubless and we're the only one on the board right now.

Looking at the athletic data the best option would be Graham Potter. Didn’t realise how good he had been. I know it’s not a sexy appointment but the data suggests it would be a really good move forward.

Whoever comes in will get a tune out of Iwobi and Siggy etc for about 5 games. We'll all hammer Carlo and say the new boss is a genius.

Then things will slowly unravel. We will soon come to realise that these players have hoodwinked us again and we'll all get grumpy and start arguing.

Season will finish. 10th or lower. Then will be back to giving the manager "another year". And hopefully he's not sacked again.

Pirlo shout is just awful. One real management job, sacked after the first season by a team that had won like 9 leagues in a row, had the leagues top scorer yet came 4th. Forget who he was a player, have 1 thing to go by as a manager which is results and they’re absolutely awful.

So, how many Juventus games did you watch last year? What did you find wrong with Pirlo's tactics?

Do you think the injuries and ageing squad were an issue at all?

Pirlo is a massive gamble and would think he better then the club. No thanks

What an odd post.

Lad listen to what your saying. We are crap. We haven’t won anything in over 25 years. This isn’t anything like the Carlo situation. No world class manager is going to come.

Chelsea were crap for 100 years, then they got the likes of Desailly, Zola, Gullit, Viali. A swarm of talent that they never deserved in a million years. Got in debt were going into administration, and then won the lottery with Abramovich. And Man city were not much better.

Modern day football is all about money.

All Moshiri has to do to get Conte is "Ok Conte, here's your 11m a year and 200m transfer budget."

Whether he'll do or want to is another story.

We need whats best for the club, not best for the players or the new manager, or Bill, or the tea lady ( Amanda?) Or even the fans.
The best man for the job right now is someone that needs to be a new broom.
We should look at it as a 2/3 year job to clear out the deadwood, change attitudes, instill hard work ethos into the club. Making us attractive to watch, hard to beat and winners will surely follow.
But no manager will turn us into winners until the whole lot, the bath water and the baby is chucked out and the NSNO motto is back in place.
These superstar managers dont want to build a great team, they want to be in charge of a great team. If there is a missing piece they want the ability to fill that gap without risk and quickly.
We are not an "easy" manage.

Conte ?? Turned down Spurs as they didn't show the ambition of winning the league next season....
He ain't coming here with Iwobi, Gomez, Tom Davies and Siggy.
Conte gunna have a year off.
Nuno is going to be the new manager anyways, The thing with Everton is we are usually really easy to predict, we all saw when Nuno left Wolves and Ancelotti ran away from us... Its a fit.
Not an inspired fit, not a brave fit, not even a solid fit but an obvious one, a safe one. Another yes man but with a boss beard tache combo.
8-10th next season again then.
I don't think we'll finish that high unless we make some signings.

Yet we are an established PL club with a massive fan base and loads of money to spend, new stadium on the way and last manager was Carlo Ancelotti. Also we have 1 world class player(finally)
Everton is still the last sleeping giant

And all Conte will do is go out and buy a load of 29 year olds on 100k a week that come
for the money, we will finish 10th, and he will leave. We need to start looking at Leicester and how they do things. We can’t compete financially with the likes of Liverpool, City, United, and Chelsea. And buying players at the tail end of their career that have dropped off at the clubs their at now, that other big teams are staying away from won’t do it.

Leicester were only able to attract players initially because they won the league with a bunch of 25 year olds
