He needs to improve at them like, but IIRC he's only had about five chances all season in a similar way - we don't create enough opportunities like that for him.

He's scored 21 goals for us this season, he's improving game by game.

...the best thing about the pass was his composure to delay until a player was available. The delivery was well weighted. I don’t think it was a fantastic pass, it was a good pass but most of all it was a surprising pass (to me) because Godfrey isn’t one I associate with being calm in control of the football.

Before Godfrey kicked a ball I posted he would be our most effective defender by the end of the season. I’ve said repeatedly he’s our best CB. I feel a little smug. I think he struggles in possession because everything is 100%, that pass surprised me.

Let’s be fair, he was a lot more universally disliked before this season when he didn’t score goals! He’s got about 80-90% onside now and if he can bag a few more one on ones like that he’ll have won most over.

That goal against West Ham is something I'd love to see happen more. Playing on the shoulder of the defender and then using his physicality to get beyond and slot cooly past the keeper. That was a top finish and he's missed his fair share of one on ones this season.

Some proper competition and a quality winger will complement him even further next season.

We just need a bit more quality around him and he’ll score for fun I think. I love Richarlison but not sure he’s the perfect foil for DCL.
