Alright guys, long time viewer, first time poster, any news on Welbeck? We are linked with him again, i wouldn't mind him on loan with a view to a permanent deal but the reports suggest the mancs will want him back. If thats the case then we should move on, dont want to be developing other teams players.

No, I think what I was saying was that money is first, but once signed, he'll come to appreciate what a great club we are and will find it difficult to leave. But then I'm a football romantic ~ even in this brutish times.

Bothroyd has played at a higher level than Becks for his entire career until last season so i would have thought Becks had more goals playing in lower div

maybe your right mate but i do like beckford he gives us something we have not had for a while i think the lad will be boss this year if he gets a good crack of the whip

Beckford and Bothroyd comparisons are pointless.
Becks is all about pace and movement. These attributes work at any level, and he only needs to iron out the kinks in his play, and get used to superior defences.
Bothroyd is a more traditional striker. One who's only ever had one good season. He looks to me like someone who can be a lower end PL striker at best. For me the best defences would just bully him all over the shop. They often do the same to Becks, but his game isn't about holding it up, or having his back to goal. Despite Moyes' best efforts to turn him into a lone striker!
We need someone who's genuine top flight quality to partner Becks, and get the most out of his God-given talents; chiefly finishing, movement and pace.

Lad im with you but what if we cant get/afford a top quality striker
Id like more options on the bench than Vic and Velios
