While he maybe "effectively free", I think the complication is that he is able to play one team off another to get the best deal for his client. As LCAB has said, its all about the money. If he joins, he'll find its all about the love and pride of the shirt.

Ideal world, yes. Real world...no.

You'll be hard pressed to find a player who'll play for pride and shirt for a team nowdays...unless they've been at the club as a boy.

that is good to hear but from the outside looking in , i dont think this is going to be resolved in 48 hours or so what with the 3rd club and all .

But we are.................Jay Bothroyd. Only time will tell if he will be any good ala Beckford. But I dont think Ba, Beckford, Bothroyd and Saha is a bad line up of strikers going into the new season. Dont forget we have Anichebe and Cahill who can be move to play up front aswell.
