ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

This bit is funny
"In years to come, Jordan Pickford’s tackle-cum-assault on Virgil van Dijk may be seen as a watershed of sorts""
It's as if that one incident is more damaging for them, then when they got the champions of England banned out of Europe
I picked up on this comment - 'But however Klopp tackles the situation, you can’t help but feel he’s missing his secret weapon…'

It would seem the writer agrees with a lot of us.

"there is a fair argument that no side is more aligned to and reliant upon its supporters as Klopp’s Liverpool."

No, my deluded kopite friend it is not a fair argument at all. It is 100% one of the most arrogant things a fan can say about their club. What I think he means is that no side has to bow down to a cult like Klopp's Liverpool, no other side has to be careful of what they say and when they say it otherwise feel the wrath of a fanbase that is deluded, blinkered and downright mental in their views and opinions about their own club and football in general.

Also what the absolute grade A bellendery is this comment, "mentality monsters", they really do know how to make them sound like tools to the extreme.
It's a surrender document in preparation of any defeat at Spurs tomorrow. They just want to go down by issuing an excuse of "if only those special nights at Anfield hadn;t been denied us...blah blah blah"

If they do get beat tomorrow they will be out of the title race, and that's down to having a squad and manager which is incapable of "going again".

IMO Van Dijk got off easy. There was clearly an intent from him to go in with studs up and injure Pickford.

He should have a 10 game ban on top of any time out for injury.

We certainly have more than just a manger and one player with quality to challenge them lot and the rest, in terms of 1st 11.

We certainly don't have the squad but I think it is not far fetched to say that we have a chance to be in the mix.

I know, as an Evertonian, it is the hope that kills us but even if we fall a bit this season I think that we are strong enough to get a Europa League place, which will hopefully attract a few more players of better quality. It is about the building process and there is a minority of reasons to feel so glum.

Anyway, back on topic. Kopites are Gob****es
we are well and truly in the mix, we may have a thin squad but we have missed players like Digne, Allan, Richarlison Coleman and James for significant stretches of time and we still could go 2nd after half a season of games. That isn't a flash in the pan, a bit of a fluke, or opportunism, that my friend, is progress. Can we keep it up for the second half?> Probably not but we are in it as much as the other top 8 placed teams, City stand out for me, the others are very much the same,.

This was an utter joy to read. Full of self pity and excuse making. It's a tour de force in cry-baby fan journalism.

What they fail and refuse to grasp or accept is that Klopp built a team and not a squad. He also built a team and not a squad whilst having the highest wage bill of any team in the PL. He then literally ran that team into the ground and the fall out of having no decent back up players is there for all to see.
Nobody's fault but Klopp's - 100%.

They assett stripped lower PL clubs like Hull, Southampton, Sunderland and Newcastle. There's nothing organic about their progress under Klopp.

Just seen Liverpool’s fixtures from now until end of February

Bloody hell

Might throw a fiver on klopp to get sacked whilst the odds are decent
It wasn't supposed to happen like this. All their harder fixtures on this side of the season were meant to have their fans back in the ground.

Now they're banned again and they will have to make do like everyone else has had to.

Losing out on the CL would be disastrous for them. There’s just no way they didn’t budget for qualification this season.

You'd imagine tey budget for it, and probably budget for the quarter finals as well. I do wonder if a lot of these sponsorships they have contain reduction clauses for not being in the CL too. Like a 25% reduction in basic if they miss CL that year.

It's odd really matme, the noises you get from that lot, is that missing our CL will be a real trigger point, beyond even the lack of fans etc. It hints at a bit more going on there.

I posted this image earlier in the thread back in October, and I think it underlines my point...

That is intent to damage Pickford's ankle and clearly going over the top of the ball.

Of course, he gets away with that because the Kopite media make a song and dance of Pickford making contact with Van Dijk.
