He's been brave on the ball when he's come on last couple of games. I'd much rather have him than Sigurdsson in this form. Maybe his instructions are different in the Sig role. He was actually going past players. Lets give him a chance in that role further forward and see if he can make things happen in the final third. 4-2-3-1 with James on the right and Gomes in the middle? Or Iwobi on the right and James in the middle?

Lokked like Gomes of his loan period when he's come on the last 2 games, tonight he even showed a good turn of pace!

Hopefully his confidence and fitness is returning as when on form he's such a classy player

The only reason I know he’s on the pitch is because he must turn the ball over to the opposition more as a %age of touches than any other player in the team.

Thing gomes was good at when he first come was just gliding with the ball, nice touches/feet and nice little balls.

All he does now is get the ball, try something mad and just give it away, every time though. Just keep it simple

Was our best midfielder for a long time under Silva, wasn’t a world beater by any stretch but certainly better than Davies and Sigurdsson.
