People have to remember if Allan fits the 442 like a glove he's worth every penny.

Brazil national team play 433 maybe thats why he doesnt get much international game?

Either way I think he'll do well here - sack Hojbjerg off if he thinks he's better than us and try find Allan a good enough defensive midfield partner.

Do you think we will still play a 4-4-2? I don't think Carlo is as wedded to it as we think.

If we got Allan, I wouldn't mind seeing us play something like so:

? Keane Holgate Digne
Gbamin Gomes Allan
? DCL Richie

Defend as a 4-5-1, attack as a 4-3-3. Walcott for now is the RW role, but we seem deadset on a RW, so whoever comes in get's that spot, and Walcott is cover. Kean did play on the RW of a three at Juve didn't he?

Delph (who will stay) is defensive cover if Allan/Gbamin go down, then Bernard/Iwobi can cover the more attacking Gomes parts of that, they are much more suited to more central advanced roles than wide.

Siggurdsson and Davies get the boot. Would still want one more CM.

It's double l so it's pronounced in welsh like llanelli, allan... Which actually means out on Welsh.

Have we stuck with it though? Carlo has played 5 at the back and the 4-2-3-1 in just the last couple of games. I'm not sure he is wedded to it.

Anyway the point is we need midfielders, so this would be a great start. He seems more box to box than PEH, who looks better at winning the ball back than Allan, but Allan seems far superior with the ball.

Sounds like he's had a few injuries this season and has been out of the team a lot. His attitude has also been questioned this season. For a player who's nearly 30 this sounds like a poor value deal.

Basically every signing is a risk - for every overseas Niasse there is a Suarez

For every domestic Van Dijk there is an Iwobi

He knows Carlo / he suits his system & formation of choice.

Carlo used the word's Quality & Menality , so for me he has to be trusted with the players he wants no matter what age.

See it being £25m with £5m in add-ons. Probably be the old "undisclosed fee" like we did with watford and richarlison. Their sources said they got £50m and ours said it was £35m with £15m add-ons.

I do like this lad, I saw him live when working the CL game vs Liverpool - He was playing with Fabian who is basically a better version of Gomes, so could see them working together.
