Serious question mate, bearing in mind you're about to see a World Cup played in December in Qatar in the not too distant future, how do you propose the league accommodate that?

Is it to be a mid-season World Cup? Or will the calendars be adjusted to ensure the prior domestic season(s) finish in October / November time?

No such thing as a wrong answer on that one, just interested to hear your opinion.

The sands of time are running out

You think the leagues UEFA and the TV companies are going to mess around with 3 OR 4 seasons so that the RS can pick up a trophy ???
Genuine question

I think the move of the Euro's is on the assumption that European football is starting up by June (as per their statements of finishing hopefully by july 31st); Now that they have moved it, there will be no issue moving again if needed & in a weird way, aligning to Qatar could make a lot of sense.

as per 19/20 & 20/21 - All discussion (at present) suggesting you cannot start 20/21 without 19/20 coming to conculsion, in some form or other.
The discussion about finishing 19/20 will change as the weeks go by , there is no doubt there is an appetite to finish the season now but will it make sense to finish it after a gap of several months if that is what it takes ?. It all depends on how long the closedown of football goes on for.
I cannot see any return before August or September and by then the conversation will probably have switched to season 20/21.

Technically speaking, I just think those who go to the wall just have their fixtures H&A voided - but you are right, we are entering into a brand new reality where it is going to be massively different. the PL will & must do everything they can to guarantee this season's TV money. I suspect you might see some sort of hybrid model - Get the PL and Championship finished to make sure that revenue can trickle down to all (in reality this will be a token 5%) gesture from the PL
Is this the RS's latest proposal?... don't void this season, just void the teams?

There are other leagues to consider too.
Why are people making it all about them

Most aren't mate. It's just a select few making.

@Brisan123 back to the 2022 World Cup, do you think it will be mid-season or a re-shuffled end-of-season?

Both have pro's and con's, was just interested in your answer.

Again - a guess, but I would suspect the likelyhood of PL or championship teams would be far greater than a void season with returned TV money possibly due (certainly disputed) than finishing the season

I agree - it will definitely become less of an issue as time goes by, but I cannot see void being a solution at any time. There is no 20/21 season without a conclusion of 19/20 - they are inter dependable entities & one cant function without the other. So if it doesnt finish, you are going to have to rewrite next season, deal with multiple court cases and probalby 100m+ per club due to be return for not completing the tv rights.

Again, all as it stands now - I appreciate this might change and change again in the next few days or weeks.

Spot on.

Too many Blues are trying to turn this enforced break into the Liverpool show when there's promotion, relegation and European places across all European leagues to be sorted out. Not everything has to revolve around whether they pick up the Prem title or not. Surely I'm not the only one bored of reading about them on here.

UEFA have moved the Euros to allow leagues to finish before the start of a new season.

With Champions League and Europa League commitments, they will ENSURE they have these will be completed especially after moving a major tournament which generates millions.

Regarding Leagues, I think they will have showdowns in terms of cancellation due to time constraints on the Coronavirus spreading rapidly plus Governments worldwide having issues with non essential activities.

I fear UEFA will ban English clubs for not complying to their rules which will see clubs missing out on millions for the Premiership utter idiotically to finish this season despite Italy, Germany and others being realistic and having the discussion to void their seasons for the big picture of safety.

Realistic Timetable
Void the League - Immediately
Champions League/Europa finished - August 2020
New Season - October 2020 (closed doors potentially)
No Winter Break
African Nations - January 2021
Reduced Cup Replays for cup competitions including Champions League.
Reduced International Friendlies
Season finishes - June 2021
Euros - July 2021
One of the more practical posts I've seen for a while. And it might well still be overly optimistic.

John Barnes on TV saying the season must be fi ished for the integrity of football. How can he possible use the word integrity when talking about the Premier league. They are only interested in themselves we have not had a peep out of anyone connected with Rugby League and Rugby Union, Cricket, Tennis or Athletics who have all had postponements. Speaks volumes.
