£20M for Suarez for a caretaker manager.

Moyes must feel like weeping.

They just always blow us out of the water !! I mean £23 million just like that !! On a positive note I've heard the ladyboy is serious about leaving for Chelski , and after I was told they wouldn't pay more than £15 million the other day for Suarez they then pay £23 mill !! Maybe they know Torres is going , either that or its part of their plan to have 2 top strikers in their side !! Greedy bastards, we haven't even got ONE in our squad !!!

The same price as Darren Bent, more or less?

I'd rather have Suarez any day of the week. I'd say that's a decent price for him in today's climate, but time will tell if it's going to be a good buy or not. He could flop in this league as some seem to think he might. I do not; I think he'll do very well, but let's see.

Would rather Darren Bent proven goalscorer in the PL, I mean up there with the best not just 10 goals a season.

Maybe now they got Suarez we could loan Torres?

Everton haven't even enquired about kranjcar, he doesnt want to go to Germany, Redknapp just confirmed.

I really don't rate Kranjkar at all.I think that we already have better than him at the club.We already have Osman,Bilyaletdinov,Anichebe and Arteta who could play in that position.

I wonder if we can hold out and try and get him on a loan with a view to buy, or maybe get them to knock a bit off of their asking price.

I mean, he'd be a fantastic replacement for Pienaar, and not too costly in the grand scheme of things.

I saw on SSN that Kranjcar had turned down a loan move to Werder Bremen, if he's available on loan and wants to stay in the premiership then i dont know why we arent looking at him?.

Someone said he isnt better than the likes of Osman or Anichebe etc, but he is better and he would fill the void left by Pienaar on our left better aswell IMO.

I read something in the week about Moyes looking for solutions down our left and that he though Bily might not be that so if he isnt, then who is cos Osman and Anichebe arent IMO, so why not look to sign Kranjcar who likes to play from the left and would offer something similar to Pienaar down the left, he'd be a good foil for Baines i think.

But going by what Moyes is saying on the OS, he's already making the excuses up. Saying that were in for loans but they have to be good enough to come in and make an impact, Well im sorry but your asking alot to find someone on loan to come to us and make an instant impact IMO!.

Come tuesday morning/afternoon after weve signed nobody, all we'll hear is 'well we tried as hard as we could to bring in players but there wasnt anybody out there with enough quality that we need available'.

Well by sounds of it Kranjcar could very well be available and to me he is good enough for us and he would add to the numbers as well as the quality and would fit in well on our left handside and would work well with Baines IMO.

Does anybody see these and just scroll right over it?

Could be a valid point but im too lazy.

I Think we should just draw a line through this transfer window, admit that this season is going to be another mire of mid table mediocrity, with maybe a last minute surge towards Europe at the very end, only to end in failure. And just look forward to the same turgid transfer window nonsense in September as we watch the likes of Landon Donovan's transfer deal go up in smoke like so many before them, due to lack of funds and interest from Everton..

Only the Best will do ? The board really needs to take a long hard look at our club motto from time to time :(

Oh my god. Been away from any news today, and the first thing I see when I get in is Moyes saying we probably won't be getting anybody in.

Its unbeleivable and I'm fuming!!

Just wait for my percentage later.

The reality is fella, it's: 'ONLY THE BEST WILL DO (within our means)'

And right now 'our means' = nada

It'd have to be on the strength of Torres going. This lot (NESV) have banged on for months about 'value for money'. £26M for this feller from a league where Dirk Kuyt was top marksman is ludicrous. If they get £35M in for spaghetti hamstrings that'd make sense as a calculated gamble.

Suarez and Torres would be mint. It would be nice if they sold Torres to pay for Suarez and then he bombed though.

As there seems to be nothing happening at Everton,we might as well talk about Liverpool.I wonder if the suggestions we hear that Torres is interested in going to Chelsea forced the Liverpool board into signing Suarez.Players from the Dutch league have a very mixed record in the English and other stronger European leagues. The player did well in the World Cup,but a once off tournament like that can be deceptive.

Regarding the comments of David Moyes about transfers.
It sounds as if Everton have made their proposals to certain clubs and players and are now forced to wait and see if there is any movement between now and next Monday.A lot happens in the last few days of the window,David Moyes probably was sending a coded message that whatever we have propsed wil not be improved upon.I tend to agree with LCAB that we will see something happen before the window closes.

Have to say I disagree with that mate (each to their own so no offence!). Krankjar can produce that somethin special that the likes of Osman and Anichebe don't really have in their locker. Bily and Tater do, but don't produce it consistently enough. With Pnut gone, I'd see K as a really good quality replacement who can produce something special every time he takes to the pitch. The gig is, though, Moyes may bring him in, but he may then spend the season picking splinters out his ar*e, like Bily and Vic.

tbh, although we've lost Pnut and Vaughny, and Yak has gone, hand on heart you'd have to say that the only real loss (in terms of consistency) is Pnut, and we couldn't stop that (at least not without paying up - and remember, we don't / can't do that, for whatever reason*). There's absolutely no point in grabbing ANYBODY as long as we can announce a new signing. We do have strength in depth, and some untried players in Gueye, Duffy, Mustafi, the Portugese fella, Baxter, Garbutt et al, and in past seasons (esp. 2009) when we've hit injury crises with seniors the young boys came in and did a job. I sense I'm in the majority on this site who would like Moyes to have blooded these guys more - that's his call and his style, and maybe even one of his flaws - but ultimately we trust the little ginger one, and respect his judgement, cos his track record for us is phenomenal. If we don't pull anyone in, there are young gladiators absolutely bursting at the seams to step up, and from the little cameos I've seen of them, I'm genuinely excited.

So, if Moyesey pulls a rabbit out of the hat on Monday - fantastic - we all get the feelgood factor; but if not, come on let's get real - it's not the end of the season, we're not suddenly relegation fodder, we've all seen the general quality of the play that each player has played their part in this season. With a bit of luck and composure Beckford could already be in double-figures - he's getting in the positions - this will come, Saha is a phenomenon, Vic is a maverick but scares the ar*e out of most defences. It just needs to click up front and in this league we can scoot up half a dozen places in 2 weeks (as the RS have just done with 2 wins against the mighty Wolves and the terrifying Fulham).

It's not that bad people. The Board is another story, but the team and the manager offer genuine hope.

Believe.

* subject of interminable debate for another thread

Glass half full !!

I agree in principle and hope its true.

Everything else is just so depressing!!!
