The plastic astro pitches they introduced, improved the game no end. Finding a space to actually play was the hardest thing.

The astro pitches were for fannies and more often used with the big balls that looked like something out of the Prisoner lol lol Original pitch and small balls with 2 sided tape holding the goals down was the preferred route for my ground staff:)

Anyone ever had a fight when an opponent decides to flick his goalie out when you're building up a good move.......usually wiping half your team out and ending up halfway up the pitch and the ball under the couch........so annoying lol lol lol

Does anyone remember the cricket game you could get, think it was called 'test match' I always remember a mate having it.
I had to make do with this, ah the sound of metal on floor, halcyon days.

Still got this...had it for nearly 70 years! Used to play 5 day test matches.....two rolls with the 'runs' roller and the combination of scores dictated what went into the scorebook(I used a proper MCC score book!) For example two 1s or a 1 and a 2 got you one run.....two 2s got you two runs etc. 6 and 4 got you a four and two rolls for 6 got you a six. That way the timescale was fairly real-life. Great for the long summer holidays. Just realised that the above will mean absolutely nothing to most on here, who will never have played Owzthat !!!

Can you imagine the kids of today doing this and having to use their own imagination, rather than sitting in front of some games console.
