Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

We showed no soul at Dover. Awful.

That it's come down to a 6 pointer with Northampton just shows how low the mighty have fallen in the last week of games. Absolute cobblers.

Can we have a poll for a new manager please?

Am just so angry. If we don't get the points in the next match, we might as well go support Boring Boreham Wood.

Don’t do that mate

DESPAIR, DISAPPOINTMENT.....DEFEAT

Northampton result.webp

The play-off dream ended at Northampton after a Fylde gave their all in a 3-2 defeat. The away side who received their third defeat in a row, tested the Northampton keeper with 12 shots on target and 23 in total. Most chances coming from outside the box as Northampton contained Fylde deep in their own half. Billy Waters opened the scoring for the home side when Knibbs managed to pull Feeney and Reynolds out of position to give Waters the space to score from Knibbs' cross. Some first half pressing caused Northampton into a mistake which McCann picked up on and launched an attack playing it wide to Henderson who found Wright-Phillips free in the area to equalise. The Fylde defence were a mess for the second goal, no challenge on Knibbs who scored a header after the ball was headed into the box from Bartlett. Fylde showed fighting spirit and Northamton held their nerve, the Fylde players doing their best to stretch the pitch and the shots rained from all angles in the second half, it was beginning to look like Northampton were going to have the better afternoon when Tyler Garrett headed the ball into his own net from a second half corner. The dream now becoming a nightmare and an 86th minute goal from Henderson was not enough to grab a point from this pivotal game. 3-2 it finished and the dream was over for Fylde this season. Tranmere beat Hartlepool to move into contention and Dover suffered defeat to York City. Fylde have a lot to be proud of this season after turning round a dismal first half of the season to an amazing end. The team who were staring relegation in the face three months ago went against all odds to show a spirited fight to aim for the play-offs and still have the possibility of finishing the season in eighth place.

DF: I have to take the blame for this one, I got it wrong tactically and I think in games like this we needed more experience on the pitch. We lacked leadership and composure. All in all, we showed fight and I am proud of the lads for how well they performed. We were close and there are so many positives to take into next season. We've got Kidderminster at home to finish this campaign and we want to put on a fantastic display to end a disappoInting but incredible second half to this season.

3 Games.

5 Points behind.

Is there going to be a final twist in the tale?

Danny Rowe risen like Lazarus to fire home the goals taht get us into the play offs using his sewn on leg?

But if Ferguson keeps persisting with 2 defensive central midfielders I am going to get cross. He's the Vanderama Marco Silva.

Only one game to go. Kidderminster Harriers at home.

Northampton was a must-win for any hope of play-offs this season.

Well that's me out. Kiddeminster will be up for it to keep away from relegation, and our boys will have their flip flops on and ready for their annual trip to the sands of Blackpool to do their summer job as donkeys for kids rides.

@The Penalty Box Dancer go back 3 games to an old save and start it again

We can't be doing with another end to a season of severe disappointment, I've got no undies left after far too many squeeky bum moments
Another season in the Vanderama? Or waking up to the last few games being a bad dream?

Right now, I'd like to stagger out of the nightmare 3 game losing streak! A big club like Everton would sack their manager over that.

Remember the postion Fylde was in upon Ferguson taking over. Many would say it has been a successful turnaroud.

Ive been turned around that many times my Dancing friend that I don't know which way is which anymore.

Do the honourable thing, pull the plug, do a Marty McFly, go back in time, stop the universe in its tracks just like Superman did when saving Lois Lane

Heres the keys to the Delorean out front, take her for a spin, ideally at 88mph

Mac, I could never do it. Even if I knew how to.
