That's the Steve Walsh approach.

The real approach is start the bidding at 15m, and be prepared to go to 20-25m.

If no fee can be agreed, take that 25m and get as good as player as we can from abroad.
It was an attempt at sarcasm mate. Obviously a very poor one:).

He was everybody's flavour of the month not long ago.

I'm currently working in Rotterdam and a couple of my Feyenoord match going colleagues said he had an impressive debut for them last week. I just chuckled and told them to look forward to some hilarity soon. I'm hoping to go to the Feyenoord v Ajax cup semi in a couple of weeks while I'm here, so will keep an eye on him and if I get the chance will give him a BOOOOO for old times sakes.

whats "boo" in dutch?

He wasn't very good but to compound this was hung out to dry by being played out of position. If we had brought him on a 6 month contract last season as back up to Kenny/Holgate while Coleman was injured it would actually have been a sensible piece of business. However Koeman gave him a 3 year contract and made him first choice just shows the lunacy of the man. I blame Koeman for Bolasie, Martina and Sigurdsson as they were clearly players he identified. Playing at left back was always going to be difficult for him as he was only an average right back. The players best at adapting are usually exceptional players or players who played on the wrong side when younger so switching isn't as difficult. I wish him well as he could never be doubted for commitment just his overall ability was poor.

Sometimes it's said that fans are mainly clueless while the professionals know the game and have a better grasp of the real issues. No doubt that's true at times, but our transfer dealings under Koeman/Walsh make you wonder. Virtually every fan knew we needed cover at the least at left-back, or better still a successor to Baines. They also knew we needed a centre-forward to replace Lukaku. Instead, our management team signed a below average right back on a three year deal - a player who'd never been anything other than mediocre. This on top of the rest of the overpriced, overpaid dross we wasted our money on.

Buying 4 players in that window whose best position was 10 then trying to shoehorn them into a team! Not realising that they needed a better partner for Keane than Williams and as you said about left back and striker. It was possibly the grossest mismanagement in history of this club yet they both get massive pay offs! Martina is probably the player that took most flack but he was far from the worst piece of business.

To be fair Mordor got to CL final, playing midfielders as strikers.
