re your question, whether or not he fits in defending at that level im basing my opinions on having watch him for 3 teams in England ( not so much stoke to be fair ) and he is terrible at football

he is a very very lucky man to have made a good career out of it

get your tongue out of his hoop

You mean the 1 team you’ve seen him play for then in reality. If you think his defending is any worse than Coleman’s then you’ve clearly stopped watching us or live with blacked out goggles on.

I would hands down rather Martina there than Coleman. Like legit honestly can’t understate just how much of a weak link I think Coleman is.

Holgate will never be a decent RB for me.
You may be right regarding Holgate. That's always been my position in him too. But it's good to see him doing well at West Brom and I'm seeing an attacking side to his game not seen before. So I'm not writing him off just yet.

Still think you're in cloud cuco land re Martina. You'll be saying he's a better option at right back than Holgate next.lol

I just said 3 teams pal. watched him when he played for Southampton ( whenever they was on tele like )( and I always thought who is this joker with a daft name

watched him every time he played for us and have the grand pleasure of having a season ticket watching that utter mess trying to play football everyweek

and coleman is absolutely shocking you are right, but so is martina. JJK is better than them all

oh and seeing your other post, I would rather have coleman playing at RB even if he had no limbs than have martina anywhere near the squad again

Nah I think Holgate is better at RB than Coleman, Kenny and Martina put together whilst still not eating Holgate at RB. That is how dire that position is for us now.

No. You've just forgotten just how bad Martina was for us. It happens all the time. Lost count of the number of times players improve when they haven't played for a while for whatever reason.

It didn't help that he mainly played out of position. But even in his favoured position he is probably no better than League 1 standard. Championship strugglers stoke City ending his loan early is proof of that.

Alcaraz and McGeady were poor, as were a lot of players who have played regularly for us this millennium. But I can't think of anyone worse than Martina.

Sandro.

Seriously, he is shockingly bad. Seems to get a pass with some people as he scored some goals for a Spanish team once upon a time.

He was a worse buy I agree, mainly because of how much he is costing us and how difficult it will be to get shut. But Martina is still the worse player in my book.

He’s not improved since he’s been gone in my head I just remember what he was like and compare that to what I see every weekend now.

Let's spend £50m on Wan whathisface then. That's a decent shout.
That's the Steve Walsh approach.

The real approach is start the bidding at 15m, and be prepared to go to 20-25m.

If no fee can be agreed, take that 25m and get as good as player as we can from abroad.

Stoke fans detested him and there was widespread celebration among them when he was banished from the squad and then sent back to us.

As if there's even a debate here. Coleman's been poor this season but anyone suggesting he's regressed to levels below Martina has lost all touch with reality. Coleman's still a decent player, but his pace is failing him and it's affecting his positioning etc. It happens a lot to players after a serious injury or when they reach a certain age. Martina was someone who genuinely didn't even seem to know what he was supposed to be doing at any given moment, he'd randomly pop up on the left side of the midfield when he was playing right back, like a kid who'd got bored and decided to get himself involved in the game.
