I would feel slightly more optimistic, incidentally, if the taking back of control that Brexiters so cherish would involve the Tories being kicked into oblivion for the unholy mess they've foisted on the country in the past five years, but I don't think that will happen at all. What a maddening state of affairs when such incompetence is seemingly rewarded.

Indeed. I think at the moment I would prefer to have another referendum, same as last time, immediately followed by a GE.....

We are not leaving the EU. Mays deal tied us in and any deal with Corbyn will tie us in further. We are not leaving, so be happy, we have overridden democracy and become more European as a result..........

The country has been damaged enormously by this shambles Pete. I don't think there's much cause for celebration even if Article 50 is revoked (as I would like). We haven't embarrassed ourselves on the international stage like this since Suez.

We regularly change our government.....

Well, firstly, we change in the sense of the duopoly that has dominated British politics for over a century. You're an experienced private sector man Pete, a two entity market aint much of a market, is it? Secondly, neither yours or my vote makes a blind bit of difference to any election result any more than you buying an iPhone influences Apple strategy.

I think the issue that you keep missing is that we can change our government, our government can change the Lords, either by making it an elected body or by appointing Lords. It is for the U.K. to decide. The U.K. cannot affect either the makeup of the EU parliament nor its officials......
I'm not missing that fact at all. There seems to be a pattern emerging with you Pete, where you completely misinterpret or ignore the point then answer in robust terms a different argument entirely of your own creation.

And I disagree that the UK cannot affect the makeup of European Parliament or it's officials, it's a soundbyte statement. There are European Elections and motions that can be made before EU parliament which the UK have previously made and had accepted. Without wanting to be pedantic, you can also, as we are doing, leave; which will affect it greatly.

Pure deadcattery Jeebs. Happens all the time.....

I notice we’ve still not left the EU.
The extension will be now till November or December on LBC just before - The Brexit party will be launched officially by Nigel Farage he was interviewed he has many business candidates who just want OUT - here we go again in other words they will stand in MEP elections .........this year almost certain to take place unless a miracle happens ....
how many times can PM May bundle along its ridiculous........
Her deal is so bad we may as well stay in the EU ..........
