Unless we get Landon on loan we will need at least at least one buy to cover Cahill when he goes to the Asia cup and we need to sell to buy ...

I can't stand him anyway. Watch the door doesn't hit your @rse on the way out golden gums

There's never any business in January. Everyone apart from Pienaar is still under contract so unless a Champions League team come in, or a team in a better climate ie Spain no one will be leaving.

Moyes has said no one is interested in Heitinga. We'd have to give Bilya away. And I've always said...why would anyone pay money for Pienaar when he's free in a few months?

At a push -1 player could leave but a team will have to be desperate for them and willing to spend.

I think Pienaar will fit into the Gravesen and Neill category: we'll take a million - or if we're lucky a couple of million - and bank it or pay Donovan's wages with it. *Sigh*.

January business

Pienaar out - £1-2 million
Heitinga out - £6-10 million
Saha out - £2-4 million
Bily out - A cardboard cutout of Van Der Vaart

Spend it on Taylor, Landon and a replacement for Peanuts (quite literally, they'll have to cost Peanuts).

Between this and the title of the thread RFUS - LOL. :)

By the sounds of it, that £20million or whatever we got for Lescott didnt go very far did it?

Heitinga - £6mill
Bilya - £9mill

Both out the door after 2 seasons - Bilya not even playing regularly.

I think they're both good players. Perhaps Heitinga was bought to be a utility player. I don't think it's his strength. He needs to be playing week in, week out in a settled position. Heit and Jags are probably too similar to make a good pairing.

Much of that is true for Bily too. Like Nani at United, he needs to feel valued and to be a regular first-teamer to show his best form. Maybe he'll get the chance once Pienaar moves on?

Heitinga in my opinion was our player of the season last year, with all due respect to Pienaar's exploits.

We all know that the issue with Johnny right now is that DM isn't his natural position and that our two CB's are playing well (or as well as can be expected) for the time being.

But as many have so rightly said, we're one injury away from having him in his favored position so if we sell him, we have to bring Yobo back and my guess is that we'd rather sell him instead.

Keep Johnny.

He's made it plain he wants away and that's what governs people's judgement of him now. Fair enough. But to suggest he cant do - and hasn't been doing - a job in midfield is poor judgement. Moyes will slot him in there again against Sunderland, absolutely no question.

When did he do that? And please don't give me this crappy arguments about him asking to be taken off or his head being somewhere else, which is something fans see in their magic ball every time player's form is going down.
