The game v Sunderland for some reason sticks out with me. Mountfield tackles lays off to Reid who tears, TEARS up the wing to deliver a cross which arrives on the edge of the 6-yard box about 1' off the ground to meet Andy Gray's horizontal diving bod.

Dodgy memory perhaps, but I remember at the time that being the best goal I'm ever likely to see, just for the fluidity and speed of movement, interpassing and bravery of the header.

Three consecutive goal of the season contenders in that one game.

For slightly different reasons - remember going to Norwich away in the early 80's. For some reason before the game it was suggested we go for a pint in the Norwich City supporters club, I remember thinking this could be a bit interesting :oops::oops:. We walked through the door to find about two hundred Everton fans singing and shouting and about ten Norwich supporters sat in the corner just quietly watching what was going on!

Think we won 1-0, but even so it was a flippin long way back afterwards!

Spurs away when they were challenging us at the top of the league. Andy Gray volleying after Graham Roberts accidental knock down, Tricky slotting, as cool as a cucumber and of course the miracle save from Big Nev. I went with my dad and my sister, happy days indeed!!

Long forgotten game but the type of scruffy win that wins you league titles.

I remember we stunk the gaff out in this game, both sides had a player sent off and only won with a bizarre late goal from Gary Stevens.

February 86 vs Spurs at home Peter Reid had been out injured for a while .It was a really close game then Reid with about 10 mins left one on one with goalie takes it round him slots at the park end .But I don't know if my minds playing tricks with me because I can remember Reid giving the ball to their winger John chedozie him rounding the the goalie to equalize and missing but am sure that was the park end as well .Anyway great game and result for a great team
Baltic day too!!

Man Utd away, I think it was Dec 83, we were pretty poor at the time and everyone thought we were going there to make the numbers up, Sheedy smashed one in off the underside of the bar to give us a one nil win, we outplayed them that day, that's when people started thinking we might have something here, the 2 sections of the scoreboard end we occupied went absolutely mental. about 4 weeks later came the infamous Coventry home game on New years eve, then the FA Cup 3rd
round at Stoke closely followed by the Kevin Brock Oxford game, the rest as they say is history
Outside was unbelievable.
Just the regulars went.
50p coach outside the empire.?

Notts County in the cup, involved a life size cardboard cut out, stopping for a pee against the bizzie station wall as 20 coppers stared out the window, kidnapping a vicar and ended up with terrorising Stoke city centre

The Andy Gray game when he scored heading the ball on the half volley about an inch off the floor? I remember the “wall” at the back off the stand we were in was just corrugated iron, strange some of the memories!

i went to a game at Villa park on the run up to us being crowned Champs and it seemed like the whole ground was blue, one of the best party atmospheres ever.
I think Villa had about 12/13 thousand at their previous home game,I think the gate was around 32000 that day, we don't have to be Einstein to work out we had a huge following that day!!

I was going to mention this one, you beat me to it!!,it was looking as if we were out of the chase for the title, we'd had a couple of dodgy results and the RS were top at this point, as you've said we were awful this day, one down but we somehow managed to eke a win out with a RSesque type goal from Shaggy, the chase was back on:)
