I thought we had more quality and possession, they were content to play with two deep banks of four and hit on the counter this was a game they couldn't afford to loose and did a job on us, to be honest two of their goals were class and hard to stop the other was an individual error.

Im not wholly dissapointed with what i saw yesterday if i am honest, obviously there are aspects of improvement.

I think if we were to play them 10 times, we will about 7.
I think West Ham were the better team on the day as they executed their strategy perfectly and they were able to finish their chances. You are right that if we play them 10 times we'd beat them more times than not. They had a large slice of luck with their goals and our inability to finish and on another day they don't finish them chances.

They won obviously, so defacto the were the best team on the day. But in terms of quality i think we showed more if im honest. To me we lost key personal battles in key areas in midfield and defence. We didnt recognise or exploit their weakness on the flanks and made some very poor mistakes, guilt edge chances missed in front of goal and bad individual errors in defense. Rice dominated midfield and was my MOM are midfield is very very poor, Arnie dominated the center backs and some individual errors were made. We also lost the key physical battle and were dominated and bullied physically. They are the areas we lost the game and how WHU got on top.

We will absolutely finish ahead of them though in my opinion.

Loads of times today we played with a tempo that was high but just did nothing. Just wasted possession, I'm all for high press etc... but there needs to be a mix, DCL, Niasse, Gueye all just lumping the ball forward almost for the sake of it.
Holgate Gana Schnederlin and JJK are not good enough
The 6 new signings , Pickford Walcott and Coleman gives us 9 quality players.
Badly need a decent CF
Tosun has lost his confidence and Naisse offers nothing other than enthusiasm and a nuisance factor
Still 2/3 players short of a side able to challenge for top 6

It's been hugely underwhelming for the most part, but at least the players that have been brought in appear to be of the required technical standard to deliver the football he wants to play. A lack of joined up thinking in the market did for both Martinez and Koeman, so it's heartening to see signs of progress in that area.

The spine of the team is poor, but if Mina is quality and, just as importantly, a leader, that will make a massive difference. Ideally, Gomes will soon push Schneiderlin out of the team and Bernard will replace Sigurdsson, but I do hope that Brands is making contingency plans ahead of January. The fewer incomings that need to happen mid-season, the better, but it's looking very likely that another marquee goalscorer is going to have to be brought in.

Klopp is a success because he binned off all the things - tactics, players - that did not work. If Silva is going to be a success then he has to do the same here; he has made an OK start (going forward we are unrecognizeable from last year or Koemans entire reign) but it does need more work.
I heard somewhere at the weekend that only one player who started for the RS on Saturday was there before Klopp
He’s bought a whole new first 11 ( except TAA)
Silva needs time
He and Brands need time to get in a DM a CF and maybe a RB and get them all to gel
After yesterday a CF is the most pressing need but getting one in January will be extremely difficult unles we get one from South America.
Wait until his six signings are all playing together to judge him

We won't know for certain until Silva settles on a regular front line, but I'd be surprised if it ended up being more productive than Arnautovic, Anderson and Yarmolenko over the course of the season. There isn't much difference in quality between either team's goalkeeper, defence or midfield.

The way Anderson carried the ball was particularly impressive. That's what I expect a £45m attacking midfielder to look like; perfectly exemplified when he sent Sigurdsson for the Echo with some neat footwork and a sharp change of direction.

Square legs in round holes at the moment, what with injuries and suspensions. However, I will never except that Guaye and Schneiderlin should be paired together in midfield, they both offer the same, they are there to break up play and pass to runners and creaters, it's against football law to let them near the opposition box!

I wouldnt agree with you there mate, id be tipping Rico, Walcott, Tosun or Rico, Walcott, Bernard, to beat them, they have some fine players alright but so do we.

Have only watched their previous games on MOTD but he looked their best player in every one,as you say it's what you'd expect, but something we can't seem to find at any price.

Just watched yesterday’s highlights. Defence worse than I judged and attack better than I judged. He needs to spend time sorting out the former but on another day it could easily have been a win or a draw. Still have full faith in him.

Needs to bin the UFO shaped formation

Looking at our team yesterday, these are the positions our players appeared to take up - note the massive big hole in the center of the park.

------------------Tosun-------------
------DCL ------Gylfi------Walcott-----
Digne-------------------------------Kenny
------Gana---------------------Morgan---
--------Zouma-------------Holgate-----
------------------Pickford------------------
