People calling for his head are either delusional or wums.
The best we were goin to do this season regardless of who was in charge was 7th. And hopefully a cup run.
And that will very possibly happen. And then improve our style of football and add to the squad over the next couple of windows.
Any one expecting a quick fix is not been realistic

There looks to be enough tragic sides that we should be ok from the dreaded R word this season but you never know with Everton. If we are in another relegation battle with players like Pickford Richarlison Mina Bernard Walcott then there is something seriously wrong at the club.

Only hope when we get our new players back in we would turn out to be ok. Yes I am furious because we can’ even beat Huddersfield and West Ham at home but I think Silva must turn this around, against the lesser teams at home, at least.

He made subs early to actually try and change the game. It didn't work, but after watching manager after manager waiting far too long to make subs, it was oddly encouraging

The loosing of the game yesterday is that we were the better team, but we were bullied, we kept trying to go down the central challenge and no body identified we had the beating of them down the flanks.

Don’t see how we were the better team when they scored 3 and we scored 1.

I thought we had more quality and possession, they were content to play with two deep banks of four and hit on the counter this was a game they couldn't afford to loose and did a job on us, to be honest two of their goals were class and hard to stop the other was an individual error.

Im not wholly dissapointed with what i saw yesterday if i am honest, obviously there are aspects of improvement.

I think if we were to play them 10 times, we will about 7.

Results count. 3 points count. For me the rest is nothing. Yesterday was horrendous in terms of result, at home.

Totally agree mate but you need stability at the club to compete consistently and look to improve year upon year. Panic sacking a manager every 3 months doesn't help anything and is definitely not the answer. It could turn out Silva is crap, but we will only know for sure if he is given the time and resources to try and improve us.
Agree, don''t think in anyway Silva should be sacked.

That fair enough it was a bad result. I often find the performance more meaningful if im honest and i see a bit of green shoots. I know you dont wholly mean that really, else wise you may as well just look at Ceefax.

I'd kind of agree. I wasn't expecting us to be very good, and we weren't very good. But I saw a mixed bag of a team struggling for fluency and looking like they hadn't played together before which is not overly far from the truth.

Unlike HK toffee its not just about results for me, and I am still hopeful this guy will ensure we take the game to all teams. I don't expect us to finish outside of Top 10 but I will be fine with anywhere within that top 10 so long as over the whole season you can see clearly what we are trying to do and we finish the season with some hope of us building on it for next season.

The ray of hope for me is that our better players this season so far have mostly been Sila/Brands signings. I am thinking of Digne, Bernard and Richarlison. Gomes and Mina still to play of course.

Silva also seems to be getting the best out of JJK which is important as Seamus does seem to be off the pace a bit.

What worries me most is the spine of the team. Pickford is full of errors, we haven't yet established our first choice CB pairing, DM position(s) are suspect, none of Scheiderlin, Gueye or Davies have played well there and we desperately need a quality CF. Tosun just doesn't look right, DCL is not ready and, much as I love Niasse, he mostly plays like he has his boots on the wrong feet.

This, for me, is already a season to concentrate on putting the building blocks in place, identifying further weak areas and, hopefully, buying big again in January.

I can see us playing some good stuff from Christmas time onwards - but by then the top 6 will probably be gone so we really need to target every Cup competition we are in.

I share the same analysis mate, a very mixed bag of a team is an excellent description. What i find odd is the variance of the characters yesterday, some lads well up for the battle and others easily knocked and bullied of the ball. a real spectrum there. But i did see some green shoots.

Although I was fed up with the result, and especially our defence - AGAIN - nevertheless the stats are more encouraging than no shots on target or one shot on goal in some matches last season.

Yesterday we had 55.9% possession; 16 shots of which 4 on target - WHU had 9 shots, 4 on target. 458 passes to 380. They had 28 clearances to our 9 so....

lots of work to do certainly, but I think we are slowly going the right way.
