Pope, meslera, casteels, handanovic, horn, sommer, subosic, lopes, Romero, butland (is equal) , etc etc. Could go on for days
I will say them 2 are without a doubt better than Pickford atm but both are at least 9 years older than him. Plus I think both would cost north of £20m. The rest are borderline in my opinion, none of them are top class keepers.

Leno is not a superior goalkeeper to Pickford.

He has been abysmal for two years. Bayer Leverkusen fans wanted him sold in 2017. Honestly, the bloke fell off a cliff.

He may come good at Arsenal, but you'll need a better example.

Agree on the experience aspect, and when he was younger he was excellent. But - and @Nymzee may be able to back me up (or disagree, like) - he's been dogger for two seasons.

Yeh Leno is an egotistical keeper. Who they signed to replace him from Frankfurt is absolutely quality though. So is Baumann at Hoffenheim.

Pickford is more than just a goalkeeper. His distribution is incredible. Laser accurate long passes, clever quick throws. None of thone suggested names are even close to being his equal in that respect. We cannot tell much yet about the new Silva regime but the training videos and the Irdning farce show a team trying to get the ball wide early and often. Pickford’s distribution to wide attackers is a big counter-attacking (transition for the FIFAists) weapon.

I think everyone agrees we need a LB and CB. I am shocked not everyone thinks we need a CM.
Not sure anyone thinks we need more CMs, but a better CM certainly, but that need is probably 4th on the list of urgent needs, and looks like we're filling 4 needs max, unless you count offloading wages as a need, which makes it 5 total.

Time we all smelled the coffee here, yet again we’ve had a stinker.

We telegraphed we had to sell players to our rivals and potential buyers therefore weakening our position.

They know as the window goes on more desperate we will get and have to accept whatever we can. Then on the flip side miss out on our targets possibly.

Sorry but this isn’t good enough at all from any of them.

Poor Silva

His distribution accuracy is actually very poor

Pickford had a decent season for us last season, he made mistakes and still looked dodgy at times commanding his area, he was boss at the world cup, and all of a sudden he's the best out there. Now I'm not saying he hasn't impressed me at times because he has, but we laugh at the RS off for heralding a player as the next big thing,so lets just see how he gets on.
