Like others have said not the first foreigner to struggle in there first season .l would like him to be given a proper run in the team I know he looked lost at times last season but he might just need a lucky break ?
.

Watched Ajax a fair few times in the Europa last season. His positional, link up play and movement was first class.

He was lost in our static, snail pace midfield this season. Sideways passing, no real link up play to speak of.

If Brands and which ever manager we end up with adopt a more high paced, fluid midfield and front 3 (as some have suggested on here) then he may well flourish.

That is of course if he can actually cope with the intensity of this league.

He's not a world beater, but a cog in a machine that needs to play to a certain style and to his strengths.

I like his attitude and should at least be given a chance by the management.

Of course, it is just as possible that he simply can't hack this league...

Either way, none of us in here really know (despite some claiming to have the final answer on him  ) until he's given a shout by the new regime.

But there is absolutely no way a footballer gets to captain Ajax, and play for Holland, (even if its not exactly a vintage crop of players), without having actual footballing skills.

No doubt he does have some footballing skills, but are we giving too much credit to the Dutch league? I mean, it's extremely poor quality in all honesty, especially in recent years. Would we be surprised if we signed the captain of Celtic and he was a flop for us?

Just see no redeeming skills ability wise with lad, some players you can say yeah, there is a player of quality there, just have never seen anything to suggest it.

I can’t imagine that Brands is going to play a style of football that differs too much from what is normally played in Holland. If he does play a Dutch style then this can only improve the chances for DK. I think he could be an excellent player in the prem but for many reasons last season was a disaster, not all his tail either.

Lads, he is complete and utter rubbish and doesn't even show any fight or willingness on the pitch.

He is 'happy to stay' as that baboon Walsh recommended a contract for him multiples of what he would earn elsewhere

but his 'unseen' work mate, his intelligence on the pitch that can only be viewing the same way as making an magic eye pic work?

Ajax is all about movement, last season we had none so its no suprise he struggled. Would definitely give him a chance this season.

Could be definitely wrong but lets be reasonable. The lad started the season and didn't look convincing, a bit lightweight. played under two proper managers (Sorry Unsy) who preferred Schneiderlin, didn't play Niasse when it's obvious he was getting us goals, played Williams, and were in general clueless. Walcott, Coleman and Gueye have proven this season even if you're not playing great, if you give effort you look better than most and at least Davy gave us that on the few occasions he's played. I'd keep him for another season - hopefully with some new players around him, I could see him linking up well with Tosun and he seems to be able to play a pass, you can never write someone off after one season in a new league and country.
