On Tosun

What more do you expect of this man?

Players still play for him and it’s not his team.

The only signings he’s made have worked- Tosun and Walcott.

Then a few days later....

this lad is no long term option. i dont think hes even a short term one tbh.

needs to be binned in the summer before his value goes to 0.

striker and centre back the priorities in the summer.

On Moshiri sacking Allardyce

Think moshiri will keep him on - let’s face it he hired him with an allegedly large number of fans against his appointment - sure he’s be prepared to face the same people down twice.

Moshiri appointed Sam in the face of fan opposition - it stands to reason that he’d be prepared to back him in the face of fan opposition.

Soon after....

i think he's gone. silva in.

You sure you're not WUMing the forum?

Allardyce "Our start from when I came in, right the way through to the end has been absolutely magnificent. It's why we have got where we are"

He actually believes that too, absolute insanity helped of course by all of the tummy tickling going on by the abysmal pundits in the media.

Man i cannot wait for the club announcement so as to bring him down off the clouds and spoil his holiday. Defo going down as the most poorest, arrogant, delusional and head up his own ass Everton Manager in 50 years for me.

Beyond a doubt.

I didn’t think we couod do worse than Koeman but Sam has proved me wrong.

I’m ambivalent about tosun. The issue being he offers nothing if he doesn’t score - and he seems to be a 1 in 4 man at best.

I thought Allardyce might face down the fans however over the last couple of weeks it became clear that Sam wasn’t getting the assurances he wanted, and that Silva was waiting on the sidelines.

Well now here is a thought Everton we’re prepared to pay 12 million compensation for Silva, couldn’t get him.

Silva downs tools, knowing Everton want him in the summer, gets sacked.

Everton pay Allardyce wages for half a year and 6 mill compensation.

Making a profit on what they were prepared to pay Watford.

Billionaires don’t become billionaires for no reason.

But they will still have to pay Watford, if we go for him now it shows Watford were right, we ow them componsation, so in reality it has cost us more because you factor in Sams wages

Is he on gardening leave mate? If so that depends on the notice period of his contract. Do we know what that is?

If not then we are free to employ him.

Was silva going to do the job for free, or would we have paid him wages for the last 7 months.

And I thought Watford sacked him?

Not sure about the terminology mate but if we take him now, just like if we took him back then we still have to give them the payoff, just like we wanted money from Holland for Koeman

We sacked Koeman, but then went he went to Holland we wanted them to pay his full wages and give us back the payoff, but they did this scummy deal where they pay him a nominal fee and we make up the rest, we even tried in court but because were so bad at contracts I think we failed, same with Palace and having to pay them off for Sams compo they gave him.
Martinez was the same, that ended up in court and again we lost and had to pay up, when it comes to contracts were all over the place, i think it must be Elstones department

Not sure on that mate. My understanding is that Watford sacked him, they are liable to compensate him for ending his contract early as we were with Martinez, Koeman and will be with Sam. Watford did have the option to put him on gardening leave, that essentially means they continue to pay him despite being dismissed for the notice period in his contract, during this time he can’t be employed by anyone else.

I can’t find any report that he was put on gardening leave, I can find reports that if he resigned to join us the time we went in for him, Watford were entitled to put him on gardening leave until the end of the season.

I think we are in the clear on not having to pay Watford anything, is how I read mate as I’m not sure he is on gardening leave and if he is it seems his notice period is up at the end of season just finished.

I know were your are coming from on Koeman, really we don’t have a leg to stand on we are liabil for his contract and compensating him as we broke it. The same way Belgium don’t have to pay us anything for employing Martinez. Essentially Everton are in the same positition as Holland and Belgium employing an out of work manager, unless Silva is on gardening leave.

Sam was actually on gardening leave, or there was another exit contract signed that Crystal Palace would be compensated if he took another job in I think it was an 18 month period.

My understanding is different.
Martinez had a gold plated contract that meant he had to be paid out in it's entirety, Koeman's salary was guaranteed not to fall if he took another job, so we have to top it up.
We're just annoyed becauase the Dutch FA pay peanuts. Finishes next summer I think.

Ultimately we are both guessing, but I’m not having for one minute that we are going to be worse off getting silva now, than if we had paid 15mil for him n November.
