I'm not for a minute suggesting he doesn't have potential,but the comparisons to Bolasie are fairly pointless,I think most would agree he was a strange signing and a poor player.

What I mean mate is lookman offered something different and should really be here getting game time rather than on loan when the alternatives are the likes of bolasie. This was my point all along in regards to the youth.
The team shouldn't have all our kids in it for experience, but off the bench and a chance to earn a start is where they will develop for us and not someone else. Otherwise what is the point in having young players here? If they won't get a chance unless the managet is forced to?
For example Harry Kane. He was a very average young striker going back what, 4 years ago? Couldn't get into championship teams like Leicester when they were coming up. You could argue that a top player even at 19/20 should be ripping the pitch up ala arguments against vlasic lookman Davies etc . Yet spurs have him a game and he scored, so they gave him more chances and he kept scoring, and 4 years or so later he has been top scorer 2 years in a row only being stopped again by salah.
So the point of all that is, if spurs had treated him at that age the way we treat our youngsters then lane may not have even got that chance to break through. Same as Rashford at United, sterling at Liverpool etc. I'm not saying that Davis Lookman all the rest will be as good as Harry Kane but if we don't give them opportunities then how are we going to know and why would they want to stay here?

Time will tell with Lookman it was reported he was homesick and missed London,then took a loan in Germany rather than a club closer to London.I think he didn't get game time here because of the defensive faults in his game at a time when getting to 40 points was the main agenda.Hopefully with a new manager in place we'll start to see the best of him.You can only imagine what the toxic atmosphere at Goodison could have done to him if he'd missed chances and given the ball away leading to goals this season.

Least he looks like he cares. I like him, puts in effort, no doubt has the ability and will be a good player. Just not under Allardyce, well like pretty much everyone else tbh haha.

Yes i agree totally. Think even the more regular starters like Davies, Holgate and DCL would have been better off developing there game eslewhere for a year ala Dowell and Lookman.
I really feel for them. Davies looked so lost and frustrated at times this season. Where being away from the limelight and demanding goodison atmsophere would have helped him.
Although Davies has put in some good performances and crucial goals of late tbf
