A loan didn't do Leon Osman any harm , tbf . You may be right . Send him here to Blackpool . Look what it did for Seamus . I'd still want him back , though

I would wish him all the best on loan and hope it would help his game so in future it is us who benefit but at the moment I do not want him on the pitch as he is so poor. Fresh start at a championship club will determine if he will make it or not.

This statement wouldn't go amiss in several player threads. I think posting it in the Rooney thread should be a priority.

But this is the Davies thread and to be honest I would choose Rooney over Davies every time. When people realise that Rooney now is nowhere near the Rooney of old then the perspective might help people realise that he is still useful and was last night but not the best of players.

I'd personally prefer if Rooney didn't see the pitch again this season. These are meaningless dead rubber matches that we should be looking to the future with.

A loan to another Premier League club could be the best option for Davies. Playing every week at Palace did a lot for Loftus-Cheek before injury curtailed his season.

The problem is that if he was on loan at another club he wouldn't be getting a game. Our midfield has been atrocious and he's a local lad, that's why he's got himself into our starting XI. Wouldn't happen anywhere else.

Rooney gives the ball away just as much as Davies.

19, second year of senior football, what appears to be the right thing to do here, judge him ultimately before he leaves adolescence or show some patience.

I’ll go with the latter.

I suppose we might as well. All we ever do as a club is show patience to under performing footballers. At least Davies is one of our own.

You're probably right. Even struggling clubs have the money to get decent players in the Premier League.

Maybe a year abroad, similar to what Chelsea do with Vitesse? Should be easy to arrange if Brands comes in, and at the very least it would prevent him doing stupid photo shoots on Bold St, like he's made it.

Do you not think its a bit of a scandel that a club that has spent 100's of millions have to turn and rely on a 19 year old as a corner stone of the first team panel who will go through peaks and troughs, is the problem the player or the system.

Shocking. Honestly, I don't think Kenny, Davies and Calvert-Lewin are ready for first team football at this level but they've all actually been regular starters at different points this season. Says it all about our plight.
