Davies must be running him a close second though mate. Early in the season it was Holgate, and now he's not playing he's our best defender.

Passion aggression , willingness to carry the ball , decent control , good passing etc

Only problem is he’s not as good defensively ( yet ) as Gana.
He’s not a No 8 and he’s not a No 10 so where do we play him to make the most of his talents.
In my opinion he needs a good manager to decide his best position and a good coach to show him how to maximise his talents in that position.
Unfortunately Everton don’t have such a Manager or coach at present

Said this numerous times. He's a young lad who's playing far too much top level football at the moment. He's probably played in 90%+ of the first team games since being introduced last Xmas. That's just silly.

He needs resting, taking out of the firing line for a few games, and then when he comes back he needs rotating, picking the games you feel he will be most effective in. Personally I'd take the opportunity to rotate with Baningime who I believe is also ready a taste of first team football. There's also Klaassen who needs some game time.

With Siggy's injury, I'd also like us to take another look at Vlasic. Now is the time to start looking at these players in preparation for next season. Give us more of an idea what we need in the transfer window and I also think it would freshen up the team now that we're safe.

I only manage to travel up for around 6 or 7 home matches a year and maybe 4 or 5 away, and I have to say whenever I watch young Tom I always think what a brilliant prospect he is.

I simply can’t see how people on here are so critical of him. That said mind, I came on to look at the reviews of the Stoke game, hoping to read something positive....however, a couple of extracts reminded me why Everton players should never read forums.

“Davies was crap”. Pickford is over rated”. Baines should go at the end of the season”. Jagielka simply can’t have another season”. Walcott was poor”. “Gana’s passing was terrible “.

Half the team with negative comments, and we won!!

Holgate played well all season, barely put a foot wrong. He also was our best defender when playing imo

Thats the point of my posts mate. The youngster that gets slagged off the most is usually the one(s) that happen to be playing at the time.

Good point, as an example prob our best midfielder Gana Gueye was playing for a team in Senegal and then lille b at toms age

Also..n'golo kante(one of the best rated midfielders in the country) had yet to make his full debut for Ligue 2 side boulogne, made his debut when he 21

But his age isn't that important as apparently the exceptional scouting brains of GOT can already tell he is useless...

Perhaps one or two of the wobble heads who want to keep undermining the young man , will wind their necks in !
We were miles better once he and Beni came on.
We need to build for the future around these guys, and Lookman and Vlasic (if they hopefully prove to be good enough).
Tosun, Walcott, Pickford, Coleman and Siggy are good enough. Gueye , possibly
Jags needs an honourable mention although coming to the end, as is Bainesy.
Poor old Mohiri must wonder what he has bought into , as he has done his part, but we have wasted his money.
Think back, when Moyes unbelievably got us into the Champions League, what could have happened if he had these funds, rather than the pennies he had.

What we do know is that we regularly have a very good academy with good or very yoing players..
What we need to get is a manager with a winning attitude and philosophy that harnesses the energy fight mental toughness and motivate them and coach them into being winners.The
Talent is there and the money is there...The team reflects the attitude abd mental toughness and winning mentality of the Manager..get the right man and we will begin to steadily improve. Its now up to the Board to get that man and to do it now

We did look much better and always do when Tom plays, simply because he carries the ball with some strength pace and energy, far to static and slow in the middle without him.

Some of you don’t deserve Tom Davies. It’s quite simple, if he doesn’t play we’re absolutely turd yet he’s now becoming some people’s favourite scapegoat. A 19 year old local lad who just wants to play for Everton, is probably our best attacking midfielder yet cops abuse from the fan base. Meanwhile players who have been bang average this season like Gueye and Siggurdson dodge it completely. Shameful.
