It's a hammer that smashes through all arguments that Martinez was somehow an inferior manger to the series of troglodyte belters we've had for 20 years.

One of them was better than Martinez? Well there'll be some evidence of that lying about somewhere. The fact is that never in a million years would any of those predecessors or successors have got this club 21 wins in a season.

It’s like debating with a 5 year old with you on this.

Your logic goes round and round in circles and your tunnel vision and ridiculous single minded view can only be likened to that of a young child.

As if you would deny that when we had Arteta, Peinaar, Baines, Lescott, Donovan, Saha, Cahill etc that we played some pretty nice football. Don’t understand the lunacy of this at all.

Has the question in this Poll been changed?

Because I voted NO in answer to the question posed in the title.

About “were we ever this bad”.

And gave reasons why I feel this is the most depressing period in Everton history during my lifetime.

And potentially the most dangerous.

But now I see it is asking if, given what is going on now, would we have Bobby back.

That would be a big YES from me.

I would take Bobby before Sam all day long innit.

What is the proper question, @SteStocksDJ

If Bobby would have only believed in working on set pieces, I'd have him back. Truth is we are minus our best places and not really any worse than when he got the boot

We were much, much worst than this under Smith.

Taking Bobby over Sam is like being offered the 2 really ugly girls at the end of the disco, not that it’s ever happened to me of course!

Maybe practised defending as well?
Bit of a crazy theory I know but one of the crucial elements of the game could have done with a bit of attention.

are we seriously being expected to believe that a manager who had the worst home record in Everton history was better than a manager who finished regularly in the top 6 over an extended period because he had 1 good season ?
:hayee:

Luckily perhaps meaning that he went to Chelsea asking for Ba and was given the chance to take Rom.

After some convincing, he got him here - best thing Belgian Kev Mirallas did for years, that - but he went for the Demba, D.
Unsubstantiated story.

Well we had the two of best fullbacks in the league, Stones, Lukaku and Barkley and got 48 points so whilst we were nowhere near as awful as now he certainly didn't get the most out of the squad he had.

The fact this team cost £200m+ is the shameful bit and that is on Koeman/Walsh/Allardyce.
I think the blame really rests on Koeman/ Walsh.
Sam bought Walcott and he seems value for money and I think most wold agree it is far to early to judge Tosun.
