It's like falling off a log: how on earth can anyone not successfully defend a manager who gave us our best PL season - one that will probably stand as a record for another 10 years?

I have no idea how his detractors think they can avoid that fundamental truth. It's like they think if they say he was rubbish enough times it'll be accepted.
The first season wasn’t the problem Dave , it’s the 2 that followed were the problem

Hi Dave, im giving you 24hours to leave town, if you remain ive booked you in for a CRUSHING, bend the knee or feel the sword.

The effect of me putting 72 points and 21 wins from 38 games on the table...

I have many fond memories of Martinez first season.... double over Man U with Moyes getting sacked day after home game, Arsenal 3-0, Baines 2 free kicks against West Ham, Barkleys goal at Newcastle, the race for 4th, which was realistic for a long time. (I think we ended the season with the most points of any team that didn't get into CL).

No fond memories of this season yet.

It's the same old song, i'll sing it you hum it.

There's just no fight at all in us. Like, mid 90s, we were awful... But the players we had were too, but occasionally you'd see a glimmer of people trying.

Now we've got players, who admittedly some are past their prime(jags, baines, Williams).... But their football intelligence seems to have left them. (Bar baines...he's not played enough)

To then Schneiderfraud who just doesn't care what he does.

To players like Davies, gueye, Keane who have all shown they can be half decent. But they are undoubtedly being made to look worse because they are trying to hard to cover others. (Maybe less so on Keane)
