I can’t work out why some of us are passing negative judgement on him already. I wish we’d give our own younger lads a break.

No way would I let him leave. He's got loads of potential he's just had a tricky second season. Is it any wonder with the chaos surrounding the team and management?!

Totally agree. I'm more inclined to judge in 18 months time. It's about how he develops and responds to adversity and opposition being quick to close him down (which I've noticed this season a lot - I think he's targeted).

Because it is like a lot of low quality sides - youngsters are put into the side who simply aren't good enough and likely never will be. What can anyone see in Calvert-Lewin, for example?

It's sad to see grown men being so harsh on four young lads who recently won the u20 world cup. They have little or no 1st team experience and are trying their best in a team where the established pros arn't leading by example.

I think the people slagging them off should realise, we would be in a worse position if these young lads hadn't stepped up. They will make mistakes !! its part of the development process. But, if you get on their backs it wont help them develop and they will move on to teams where the fans appreciate them.

What does he bring? What type of player is he? He isn't particularly creative, he isn't a ballwinner, he isn't a goalscorer, he isn't a dribbler, and he is incredibly slow, I honestly don't know what he brings to the table, if he was a Koeman signing he would have been strung up outside the Park End by now.

You'll have to walk me through this one mate, as I'm not actually sure how they have 'stepped up' in the last 11 games.

Give it a rest his 19 years of age.... strung up outside the park end, ridiculous comment.

Ill tell you what type of a player he is though, one that earns a hell load more than you!

well if they wasn't playing, we wouldn't have a striker a centre half or a right back. So thats stepping up, and they have done great considering their lack of experience in 1st team football.

Most top teams the process of entering 1st team football is a lot slower. but, due to our established pros being injured or not playing to a certain standard these young lads did, and i think have done great.

lollollol

You raging buffoon. To be fair I was using the money argument when I was 7 as well. Where did I say I am better?

The lad is overhyped, overrated, and living off that goal v City. But it's sound isn't it, because him and Kenny are blues and can get away with being plum average :hayee:
