I thought this myself. He decided to come for it himself. He was never getting there though.
Distinct lack of height in our defence at the moment. It cost us tonight. They looked dangerous at most corners.

He looks like he is confident enough to let it go over his head and learn from it so I don’t think he will lose confidence from it. He will still be on the plane to Russia in the summer because he will smash it for the rest of the season

Not saying he should be crucified for making a mistake. Just pointing out the difference between him and Joel.

1 would have been slagged off and hung out to dry for doing it, the other gets excuses made for him for why he made a daft decision.

And jumping to punch the ball a foot behind and a foot lower than where Van Dijk headed it is pretty daft.
