He doesn't - otherwise City would have bought him mate, he also wouldn't displace either Vetonghen or Alderweireld from the Spurs side, yes he may start for the other teams, but he wouldn't be the best cb at most of those teams either, Bailey at United is a better centre back - and about 3 years younger too, Christensen IMO is a more proven and better cb also at Chelsea

Granted about the spurs defense but all the other ones including City he walks into.
To be honest mate I’m not arsed about van dyke either, I think he’s quality and you don’t that’s fine, I suppose time will tell. At the end of the day we are desperate for defenders too and considering there is “no limit” on our spending we should have bought him.

No ones arsed about matip he’s terrible, no ones arsed about Liverpool either I was just replying to lads who brought Liverpool players into the debate.
I base my opinion on van dyke purely on the fact he walks straight into any defence in this league if you think otherwise then so be it, lads downplay the boys abilitly because he signed for them.

Back on topic I’m not overly arsed about being bummed by Besiktas and paying in excess of 25 million for a second rate striker.

Sigurdsson is statistically one of the best midfielders in the league but I have eyes tho.

I disagree. Guardiola rates van djik highly, you only have to listen to his comments last week when he signed for the RS. I think they didn’t want to get in a bidding war with the RS, as I’m sure they are focusing their attentions on Sanchez and subsequent 400k a week wages.
But I agree with you regarding Alderweireld, I think he’s the best centre half in the league.

Playing at the top of his game, in the correct system Sigurdsson IS one of the best midfielders in the league.

VVD is massively overrated for the benefit of Kopites. Same as Coutinho/Henderson/Firminho and a whole host of previous players.

One thing I do find odd, not just with this one, but all our big transfers, we offer a LOT of money for players, usually more than they are really worth, so they should all really be wrapped up very very quickly.
