I'd highly recommended San Sebastian although it can be hard to get flights to it. It helps if you like tapas a lot. Beautiful old port town with narrow streets filled with good bars and eateries everywhere. Can even take in a R.Sociedad match if you get the timing right.

I was in Benidorm at the beginning of March this year and it was 90 degrees.

Mainly Spanish people and a few older Brits, so it was sound.

You could well do it on that budget

This is prolly the worst advice ever, last time I was in Benidorm some fella downed 10 pints in 10 minutes for a challenge then cacked himself in the pool.

Actually Belfast would be a good shout if you've never been. Wouldn't even have to change currency, well not before Brexit anyway!

You can get a bus from Biarritz airport if you can't get direct flights to San Sebastian. Only about an hour I think. It's a cracking city.

You can fly into Bilbao and San Sebastián is easy enough to get to from there. Incredible scenery round there.

Seriously mate, when we went in March, it wasn`t like that at all.

In the season maybe, but out of season, it`s a different place.

In the middle of Summer, I'd agree, but you've got some ace walking and climbing country within spitting distance of Benidorm, so it's used by plenty of folk as a cheap base for such things in Spring and Autumn.

Admittedly @jal123 doesn't seem the type to go sauntering up the mountains whistling tunelessly and admiring the countryside, so this is probably irrelevant, but I thought I'd share it anyway !

I was that impressed Woolly, that I`m going out of season with the missus and kids this year.

As long as you steer clear of the strip, it`s a top place, especially the Old Town, which is just great.
