David Unsworth - Temporary Manager

On Sunday I'd line up like this
Gk: Pickford
RB: Kenny
CB: Keane
CB: Holgate
LB: Baines
DM: Gueye
DM: Baningime
CM: Sigurdssen
AML: Lookman
AMR: Vlasic
CF : Niasse

I think we might have to play defense midfielders, that terrible back four needs protection. We've not much going forward but with pace from Vlasic and lookman and set pieces from Sigurdssen we might get a goal.

Not much width!

No, he's not supposed to sit on 0-0 draw. He could set us up with a chance to win, that would be a good idea. Instead, it's 'we'll stay reasonably solid (they had plenty of chances anyway) and then open up hur hur hur' so what did Lyon do? They just waited for us to, er, open up, which we did. It wasn't the right decision and the result showed that. You wouldn't even mind, he tried to do the same thing against Chelsea and, er, that didn't work either.

Oh, and

Same number of Everton goals as Gueye :coffee:

Thanks.

Have you ever considered that maybe just maybe the teams we have played against are just better?

Given all our best players are kids that have played under Unsworth.

Maybe we should let him see what he can do. There's a huge risk the new manager will come in and spend the first 6 weeks trying to shoehorn in the more experienced players into the team and get exactly the same results Koeman did.

Niasse should be nowhere near starting (even in this terrible position we are in). Bringing him of the bench when teams stretched is great - but he can't start.

Who's better than him to start ?

Rooney doesn't stay up front he drops back into his own half then looks to pick out a 30 yard forward pass when no body is up front

Calvert Lewin is useless, he runs and tries but hes not a goal threat.

I'm really disappointed that Unsworth hasn't managed to get some kind of reaction from the players. There is still the Watford game but at the moment I'd take a 0-0 from that.

I really hope Moshiri knows what he's doing. I'm hoping for an announcement by Wednesday.

Rooney may drop back, but at least he moves and can score. He should play up front absolutely.

Sandro would be maybe worth a shout, but agree about DCL. No chance.

I also would not have Holgate anywhere near the CB position. No chance.

I would give Sandro a chance, and I could live with Williams or jags at centre back
